<0> SHUT THE **** UP <0> here let me help you <0> ****ing dorks <0> anyways... back to hogan's heroes in HD <0> :D <1> wait, and who was the ****ing dork again? <2> my apologies. didn't mean to come across as a ****. <3> WHORE <1> any of you mofos ever do remote syslog? <2> got an issue here with WSUS. Installing on a windows 2003 web edition system. Walked through the deployment guide, ran through the MSDN security checklist for Local Security Policy. I have ASP.NET 1.1 and 2.0 installed. Since you can't have 1.1 and 2.0 apps in the same AppPool, I created a second one and moved everything but the default site to the new pool <2> they're all running 2.0 except the default site which I've set to 1.1 since that's the requirement. However, as soon as the installer attempts to configure the web application (which is the virtual under the default site) it bombs with permission errors. <2> the log for the installer shows several errors in looking for the db and making certain calls, but they all follow the track of checking and failing for an initial find. the log shows it trying to create the db and the site right after but it still fails. <2> I didn't find anything on the specifics of what directories or permissions exactly that NETWORK_SERVICE and WSUS Administrators group require on the site or the physical directory used in the virtual <2> anyone run into something similar? <2> also, the installer *does* properly create the wsus AppPool for it's use. it dies almost immediately after creating the pool.
<4> I haven't had time to jack with WSUS yet, but you might consider filemon and regmon to solve your perm issues. <2> from sysutils site? <4> Yeah, sysinternals. <2> ok. thanks <4> That might help you track down the specifics. <2> yeah. i'm also wondering if the system is somehow not honoring the asp ver ***ignment. just not sure how to track that. I'm looking through the WMI cl***es to see if I can script a tracker or something <4> Who watched The Shield last night? <4> It was super awesome. <3> this alito guy keeps saying he didnt join the princeton alumni group to keep blacks and women out he did it because of ROTC on campus but did he go into the army? <1> that guy really bugs me. <5> how do I start this Live.com stuff for my e-mail/MSN messenger? <5> I signed up, but it still showing old look <6> you know when you use the size sort buttons in WinXP Explorer while in detail mode and it shows Tiny Small Medium etc etc...is there a way to get rid of that? <6> View>Details <6> then click on size <5> oh, i see now <7> Moo. <5> i signed up for a waiting list i thnk <5> how bout the windows live messenger, anyone have that? <7> heh live <7> yeah let's all install beta microsoft products <7> weeeee <5> there mapping live is pretty awesome <7> sure sure <5> have u seen it? <7> don't need to <7> it's MS beta <8> So, is there no R2 version of Win2K3 Web Server Edition? <7> don't get me started on web edition <2> fdiv_bug no. Web edition is just a leaned down version for web serving. nothing more, nothing less. <8> Deryl: Right, but the rest of the line was updated for R2. Why not Web Edition? <2> R2 is being propagated against the bigger versions like Standard, Enterprise and the like <2> fdiv_bug because web edition doesn't use ADSI or any of the other features that R2 adds in' <8> Ah, okay. <2> if you really want R2, I'd go with standard then <8> But it's not an abandoned product. That's my primary concern, since I'm considering using that for the Windows web app server that I have to deploy shortly. <2> yeah for straight shot web deployments.. it's fine <2> i use it <2> you'll get the SPs like you do with standard and the like <7> note fdiv <7> SQL will not run on web edition <8> Gimp-Work: That's fine. I'm not using SQL Server. <7> just sayin <4> My **** kinda hurts. <2> only 2k5 express and the dev versions <9> Sooo tired <8> If I end up needing a database, I'll either use MySQL or Postgres, or run the database on one of the many Linux servers we've got. <8> skoalwork: Did you stick it in the toaster again? <2> fdiv_bug cool. because the web edition license strictly forbids production use of sql products on the same server. <2> fine for dev, bad for prod <8> Now, wait. It forbids the use of any RDBMS that uses SQL as its query language? <8> Or does it expressly forbid Microsoft SQL Server? <8> Because if it's the former, that's ****ed up. <2> though the way they word it does make it sound like you *can* run the express versions on it in prod, but i'd call MS if this is going to be deployed publicly <2> well they specificly use the wording SQL Server. no distinction is made between any versions. that's why i'd call ms due to the ambiguity of that wording. <8> Okay. <8> I have no interest in Microsoft SQL Server. <2> if this is dev it doesn't matter either way <8> No, it'll be production. <8> My development environment for the app is Mac OS X.
<2> yeah it's not a big deal. you can use pgODBC or myODBC if you really needed to <0> mackin on chicks at work just doesnt own <7> huh <4> 4DD blows. <8> skoalwork: Man, that chick has a narrow ****in' torso but giant tits. <4> Clev0r. <4> You know what I'm talkin' about, smartypantaloons. <7> did i miss a link or something <7> :P <9> I was thinkign the same thing.... <7> cronic do you play css <9> No, my HL2 cds don't work anymore :( <7> ah <9> I just play BF2 and WoW <1> "Its what we call in law school the slippery slope and if you start answering the easy questions you are going to be sliding down the ski run into the hard questions, and thats what Im not so happy to do." <1> is anyone else bothered by the notion of that coming out of a supreme court nominee's mouth? <9> Is anyone happy to answer hard questions? <9> Seriously? <7> at least he didn't make a refrence to moguols <9> Yeah it coulda been worse. <1> the idea of being in the supreme court to BEGIN WITH is to answer hard questions. <9> Sure it is, but no one LIKES to answer them. <9> So wait, what about the thin chick with huge tits? <9> pics or ban? <7> i'm all about that **** <1> it shouldn't matter if he likes it or not. <1> uhm. <1> [10:29] <4> 4DD blows. [10:31] <8> skoalwork: Man, that chick has a narrow ****in' torso but giant tits. <1> y'all need to pay better attention. <9> wtf is 4DD? <7> ah <7> i thought there was a picture involved <9> I hoped there would be. <8> skoalwork: Yeah, WTF is 4DD? <9> lol <9> die nextel die! <7> the server is responding on the pc side <7> but ignoring the handheld <7> so i'm...pissed <9> Beautiful <7> i have 30 minutes to fix it, then i have an hour drive to, guess what? <7> A DEMO OF THE SYNC SOFTWARE <7> which of course, is a piece of flaming monkey ****, like everything made to work with act <4> I just had to do this for a secretary: =i3+1 -> drag down -> copy over -> save. <4> increment a column of numbers by one. <4> isn't that **** that a secretary should know? <7> depends <0> hey shut up dude <7> how hot is she <4> she's unhot. <7> then yes <1> double plus unhot. <1> </1984> <9> Agreed. <7> heh <4> csm: NO YOU SHUT UP <0> now dude <8> skoalwork: What's 4DD, though? <0> 57FU <9> Hahaha <9> l33t0 <7> heh <0> i love you skoak <9> 4DD would mean 4" around and DD cup <7> WTF <7> http://www.contactmusic.com/new/xmlfeed.nsf/mndwebpages/damon%20and%20affleck%20to%20remake%20cl***ic%20western <9> but that doesn't make sense. <1> 4ttention D3ficit Dis0rder? <7> the world is ending <4> Sorry. 4dd is a filename extension for a 4D file. <4> and 4D is a database format. <8> skoalwork: Oh.
