<2> yeah, I was tehre too, about a mile ahead of them :D
<2> no camera, no pictures.
<0> I figured as much
<3> whats the best compression program available for windows?
<2> determined that my R1100RS with metzeler sporttouring MeZ6 tires totally ****S on the ice.
<3> i have a 1gig file that was compressed to 7 megs.
<2> rain_; what kind of compression?
<4> i might ub
<3> thought it was winrar, but i've had no luck replicating it.
<2> rain_; compressibilty totally is based on file content.
<0> digi... it is a GREAT time
<2> what format was it compressed to?
<3> oh.

<3> .rar
<3> its a .iso compressed to .rar
<2> RAR is RAR. there's several options for RAR, specify max compression, and hte 1MB dictionary size
<3> ah thats probably what i'm missing.
<3> i tried compression with the "best" option and file size wasn't really too much different.
<3> any idea if they offer free dictionary sizes?
<2> huh?
<5> arrr
<5> why do my wmv files look like heat vision
<3> you said theres a 1mb dictionary size.
<3> im guessing thats with the registered version?
<6> damn i just puked
<2> should be a bunch of choices in dictionary size, I think 1MB is the biggest
<6> i dont feel too good
<2> ah, dictionary size is: 4096KB
<2> that would be max.
<2> thats on the advanced compression options tab
<3> ya thats what ive been using
<3> wonder what program was used to shrink that iso
<5> stupid not working wmv
<2> that ISO must be a bunch of empty space to compress that far down
<7> Interesting.
<7> Never seen that many bans in a row before..
<7> Heh.
<2> oh, did you select 'solid' compression? thats slower but higher compression ratio on RAR files also
<8> concerning modular bay batteries, aren't they all the same size? and thus any modular bay battery will fit ANY laptop equipped with a modular bay (which i ***ume 90 percent ARE!!!)
<9> MarEakin: I believe they're all specific to a given brand.
<9> But I might be misunderstanding the question.
<4> they are
<10> well. this is fun. i think my water heater has taken a ****. however tell me, if the heater's thermostat gets stuck, is it possible to eat up 1000 kwh of electricity per month, above normal usage, and still keep functioning seemingly normal?
<11> Anyone know much about autoexnt? I have this autoexnt.bat file and I want to know the command to auto connect via dialup.
<10> I would imagine a stuck thermostat would eventually boil the water and either the ****er explodes or vents tons of steam out the relief valve
<12> and then explodes
<10> mind you this is a tiny unit. very small. its condo size. serves one person.
<10> i dunno. i honestly think it is the water heater. when i flipped off its breaker, its breaker was warm
<10> like it was pumping juice nonstop
<13> hey is reverse dns possible with dynamic 3rd party dns client?
<13> useing 2k3 dns server?
<4> that was contridictory
<14> wb Ted-Lap
<10> this ****ing 4gb torrent is totally complete except for 2mb. and that 2mb hasnt arrived in days :(
<15> sup DarkX
<14> you wouldnt beleive what i found on those servers
<16> zog, it's a plot
<16> pron
<10> i dunno. its a dvd image. mpeg protocol is pretty forgiving. at a typical bitrate of over 5 megabits/second, a loss of 2mb shouldnt amount to much, provided the player recovers from the loss (which it should, robust recovery is part of the protocol)
<17> anyone use the moto phone tools?
<17> zog: I hear that's common
<18> hi ya :), i can only ping my linux server and i cant ping the windows computers (xp pro/home) nor can i see them on my network place even thoe i am on the same workgroup any clue why?
<17> the movie companies do that to **** with the torrent people
<17> tons of people are talking about all the torrents that DL to 99% and stop
<19> This channel ****s.
<6> duh
<20> where is the real XTR
<10> Cody`: but wouldnt that be silly? I dunno, ill find out in a couple hours. im pretty sure that 99% is fine.
<10> mpeg is designed to work around errors.
<21> hi all
<17> I'm just saying.
<21> i just picked up a couple sata drives (that im using as a stripe raid0) what i want to do is make my old ide drive which has windows and my apps on it get transfered to the new sata drives so i can boot from it. anyone know a howto on this
<17> I remember reading about this, but I'm sure you guys know more about this than I do
<18> no help ;(

<10> this is more like 99.99%
<10> the amount missing is so insignificant, but it would be nice to have it
<17> anyway... so motorola phone tools.. Anyone use it? I'm trying to find a way to copy/move txt messages off my phone and have them saved
<10> the fact is the torrent is almost 6 months old, its amazing its still running
<17> zog: Google for '99% torrent" or something
<17> zog: You know why it's running? Because so many peopole have that 99% and are leaving the torrent active hoping to get the last part
<17> My fastest DL's have been ones that never finished
<16> Cody`, i have them
<10> Heh. Yeah, well, if my thoughts prove well, and the missing blip is a non-issue, then i cant see this being a conspiracy.
<21> what is it called what im trying to do
<16> i've never attempted what you are discussing
<17> beucase most people close the torrent when they're done DL'ing, but if it never finishes, they keep it and those things DL super fast
<21> is it moving an os to another drive?
<10> im at an aggregate share ratio of 5 at the moment. the system only works if you work it.
<22> I'm here Joe.
<10> back to k19 (well, 99.9% of it)
<10> ttyiab
<17> gimp: I noticed that in the 'inbox', which looks like outlook express kinda, I can make a new folder, but it's only a subfolder from 'inbox'... I wanted to have it be a db that was part of phone tools that I could move txt messages to like the way you can do with contacts and other things/data that you move to/from your phone with the app
<16> what utility are you using
<17> so I don't know what those user made folders are even for since it's not something that's oging to show up on my phone
<17> gimp" Mobile PhoneTools
<17> the inbox
<16> oh
<16> i just have the advanced ****
<16> do you have a smartphone or something
<17> no

<10> actually a buddy of mine ordered technical documentation from motorola for his phone, he was shipped 1000 pages worth of programming manuals
<17> I just want to move some of my text messages OFF the phone because my txt message memory is full
<23> no one on the net seems to have one
<10> that is cool enough, but ****, who wants to program for an OS that is used by *one* company?
