<0> or it migth be for 'AGP Pro' video card power. <0> what sthe motherboard manual say? <1> well either way i plugged it in and it didn't help anything <0> whats the motherboard manual say? <1> hold on <2> zzz9: have you read reviews on your monitor model? maybe other people have the same trouble <0> zzz9; LCD monitors generally require 60Hz refresh, if you were previously using a CRT, you may have set the refresh considerably higher, like 75 or 85Hz <1> well it has worked before <1> and shouldn't it atleast pick up a signal <2> peerce: i had an lcd that if i used 60hz refresh, it would randomly turn off/lose sync. i had to turn it up to like 70, and then it worked reliably, and the picture was perfect <0> huh. pretty much every one I've seen is 60Hz at its rated resolution (and LCDs really don't look good at any other resolution) <1> well its not even picking up a signal <1> the motherboard manual says nothing about that extra power connection <0> zzz9; um, does it show it on the diagram? what kind of motherboard is this? <3> sleeeeeeeeeeeeeepy <1> ecs
<1> kn1sli <2> peerce: heh...i know, it was weird...it would flash off about once every 1-5 seconds until i upped the refresh <1> i got the motherboard manual link if u want <4> hmm i got inet up.. on the other pcs for like 10mins <4> then it whent down <1> wait i see something on it <4> and i have no idea why <1> it just says to use it of 2 video cards are in <5> is it true that PDA's need firewalls? <0> btw, thats not AGP, thats PCI-Express X16, totally different. <2> sill3: maybce wince ones ;P <1> my bad <5> ok. thx <1> so peerce, any idea <0> god, ECS writes crappy documentation. <0> ATX4PI power connector is for power supply plug; it offers adequate <0> supply of power to the motherboard. The power supply plug is designed <0> to fit connector in only one orientation. When installing two graphics <0> cards, make sure to connect the 4-pin power plug to the ATX4PI. If not, <0> the system may become unstable. <0> thats SO totally nonstandard. PCI-E systems are supposed to have a 'ATX2' connector whcih is 2x2 square +12V only <0> oh, it has one of those too. <0> thats beyond funky. <1> so what should i be plugging in haha <1> and is this any part of the issue i am having? <0> who knows? <4> im having problems sharing my inet with the other pc's on the network.. i got it workin 10 mins ago.. the suddenly it whent down.. without me doing anything.. <6> peerce many boards have 24 + 4p <0> yeah, but this one ALSO has a disk drive style molex power connector. <1> so.. cluelessA? <1> clueless <2> benskum: two computers with same ip <2> try to ping 66.9.27.146 on a "broken" computer <4> wont work <4> timing out <4> works on this one tho <1> damn <1> anybody got any suggestions? <5> can linux (Slackware) see a windows NTFS formatted hard drive? <4> but dont think there are 2 pcs with same ip.. this one is 192.168.0.1 , the one i normally use is 191.168.0.2 , another one is 192.168.0.3 <0> on the ICS (sharing) computer, go to Network Connections, and right click on each connection, 'repair'. <0> sill3; there are NTFS drivers for linux, they are unstable and dangerous if mounted read/write. read/only works adequately. <4> peerce , does win2k have repair ? <4> cant find it <0> oh. win2000? dunno, i stopped using that several years ago <5> is NTFS more stable in the real world than FAT32? <0> sill3; very. <4> yea im using xp on my other pcs.. but server is 2k <5> yes win2k has repair <5> ok thx <4> how sill3 ? <4> cant find it <5> boot from the win2k cd <5> and it will give you options to choose from <4> problem is i cant find my win2k cd :( <5> either install or repair <5> then start searching <4> well this is "network conncetion" repair <5> try looking in your Computer Disks drawer <4> not repairing the whole os <5> you do have one of those don't you?
<1> peerce, give up w/ me? <0> can the ICS machine ping the other machines also ? <0> are you SURE you have the sharing enabled on the INTERNET interface, not on the LAN interface? <7> http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/03/06/btsc.lavandrera.funerals/index.html <--- I hope some of these pricks die so I can go laugh at their funerals. <8> those people saying that iraq is where god is punishing americans for harboring gays? <8> yeah <8> those people need to be beaten <8> and their repressed homo***uality revealed. <7> Absolutely beaten without mercy. I have no sympathy with these folks. Damn good thing the Patriot Guard is doing something. <9> SD70MAC: I love the Patriot Guard. <8> yeah <9> Those guys are what America is about. Not Phelps and his hate. <8> as lame as those ****ers are, i hate to say it, it's good to see they have the right to be morons. <7> Yeah. <8> if the govt carted them off, i'd be pissed <9> nerp: I agree, but it does make me sad to see them using their freedom like that. <7> Yeah. I'd want someone else to beat the holy hell out of them. <8> they have their right to do that and now the patriot guard has the right to show up too. <8> yeah <8> agreed. <9> And there are laws being made against protesting military funerals in some states, now. <8> fortunatley or unfortunatley freedom doesn't require an application. <7> It is just such shockingly appaling behavior. <9> It really is. <9> There's a right to free speech, and then there's just good courtesy. <9> They're only doing the former. <7> I don't mind protesting. Protest whatever you want, just in the appropriate forum. <8> but blaming gays for iraq? how ****ing retarted do you have to be? <7> At a soldier's funeral. They just absolutely need to be beaten beyond recognition. <9> Funerals are not the right time. <8> that's so 700 club veiled bigotry <8> actually <8> its not even veiled <9> No, and I'm pretty sure Jesus will forgive them. <7> Even if it was something I agreed with I'd want them beaten. But they're so deranged. <8> that would be like me blaming skoal's cumstains in the shower giving me bacne. <9> I won't, but I think if they ask for forgiveness He'll cover `em. <9> That's kinda His thing. <7> Hopefully he'll piss on them first. <9> They probably won't ask for it, though. Just be appalled when they end up in Hell. <7> Next time someone sees on the news about someone being tortured and says "No one deserves that" I will finally have a good example of people who deserve it and ought to have it straight away. <10> without access to a hosting sites name server how can i find all the domains they host ? <9> SD70MAC: I trust that your outrage stems from their choice of location, not from their message, right? <10> like i dont have root on their dns server <7> fdiv: Yes. They can say what the **** they want. I just can't abide doing that at a person's funeral. I just can't. <9> OK, just wanted to be sure. <9> Because it's a slippery slope when you start going the other way. <7> I'm still a Libertarian even if I've given the **** up on this country. <9> Heh. <11> hrm <11> which p4s are 64 bit ? <11> all of them ? <9> ****. I found a cool chart the other day. <0> muahahaahah, ah the intertwining of this industry. sat through a sun storage presentation the other day, was given by a ex-StorageTek guy (sun bought StorageTek)... he mentioned that both the Sun 6130 and StorageTek ___ were based on identical Engenio storage controllers so integrating the product lines was really quite simple.... <11> or just xeon <9> Lemme see if I can find that again. <8> Pfft - none of them, i thought. <8> the itaniums maybe <8> but who the hell cares about those?? :D <0> so I'm poking around Engenio's site.... Engenio *ALSO* sells their controllers to... IBM, who uses them in the DS4400 SAN I evaluated <9> Pfft: http://www.intel.com/products/processor_number/proc_info_table.pdf <0> ...its a small small small small world... <9> !info em64t <0> Pfft; P4 6xx and later are em64. <9> !infoadd em64t Find out which of Intel's chips support which extensions (64-bit, etc.): http://www.intel.com/products/processor_number/proc_info_table.pdf <0> and the latest xeons. <0> ooh, and P4 561, 571 (but not 560, 570) <12> hi <12> I have a problem with a DVI KVM that I use and windows XP, as long as I switch over to PC2 and have PC2 boot while it's selected i have no problems. If I switch to PC1 and then back to PC2 again PC2 display never shows up again, PC1 works fine though I can switch to and from it without issues, PC2 works fine with linux seems it's just a WindowsXP problem. <12> Anyone have any suggestions on how I can get PC2 to resume properly when I switch to with with my DVI USB KVM? <0> cheap KVM's ****
