Can i use partion magic or any other partion resizer programs to extend a partion on a dynamic disk?

<14> hey, dumb question. I burnt several backups of my files, using Nero 7. Wiped my computer. Put in my backup dvds, all of them say blank (no i did not burn in backup mode, just standard burn). Windows sees them as blank. I decided to view the disk in a track editor (basically hex editor) my files are there. I extracted the track into an ISO and opened it in winrar. its extracting now. but my question is. How the hell did this happ
