<19> considering the m***ive amount of seagate scsi disks we buy, well, they do crap out occasionally, but never have they failed in a condition where we werent given warning and the ability to recover 100% of the data before sending it away for warranty (or just trashing it)

<14> there was a HORRIBLE series of 2.5GB IDE drives a number of years ago that were these extra small 3.5", like 3/4" thick, and shorter than normal, I think it was a Conner design, they were flakey as hell. st25250 or something.

<19> I had an all-in-wonder pro card, old PCI card based on a Rage Pro chip. It had some pretty weak encoding algorithm proprietary to ATI that was usable in realtime encoding on a pentium 166... i dont know if it was hardware accelerated or not.
