<0> What is the name of the OSX that can run on VMware <1> tiger i think <0> osx86? <2> maybe? <1> yes
<3> darky <3> darky is a bitch <3> ;D <1> la <1> anyone know anything more about vmfs3 yet? <3> bitbyte. what do you want to know about vmfs3/ <3> ? <4> just a quick one..im trying to teach myself esx. When I try to add a adapter or edit a adatper in a vm everything is greyed out and it only says monitor mode. I have full permisions on the vmx file. Is there something else i need to do to change the adapter settings? <4> monitor device that is <1> are you logged in as root? <4> yes <5> is the VM on? <4> it is <1> theres the problem <1> you cant edit those properties while its powered on <1> that was my next question too FluKex, hehe <4> it happens when its off two <4> to <1> using the MUI or the remote console? <4> both
<4> in the MUI i didnt think you can edit things like changing it to bridged <1> the mui has the greatest level of control <1> besides the cli <4> i just see connected on/off Virtual device and Network connection <4> under the vm/hardware/network adapter/edit <4> plus the remote console should still not be all greyed out in the nic adapters <1> call tech support <4> no thanks.. ill read and trouble shoot on my own more. But thanks for that great tidbit.. i would have never thought of that one :) <1> hey, you pay for support, why not use it <4> cause you dont learn as much <1> sure you do <1> tech suport guys are very knowledgable <1> and helpful <4> im not saying there not. Im saying you learn more by researching and going through the issue yourself instead of someone telling you the answer <1> sometimes <4> apply that to all issues in life :) not just vmware <1> but there's a concept called "diminishing returns" that you shoudl familiarize yourself with <4> yes its a balance <3> hrmff <6> I'm experiencing the oddest issue. GSX Server 3.2: For one of my machines running XP Pro, when I use the console "Power Off" menu item, the machine "Suspends" instead of powering down. This is preventing from making a needed hardware change (new drive). Why might this happen and how do I resolve it? <6> It seems that the problem was due to the fact that two consoles were attached to the machine when I tried to power off. Hmmm :) <1> hehe
