<0> Hello. In an app setup project, how do you add the app folder to the programs menu? I know how to add a shortcut to the app, but not the whole folder. <1> ever heard of google? <1> or msdn? <0> Purple: is that to me? <1> do you see anybody else talking? <0> I just joined <1> then you asked a question and I responded <0> uh, but I had no way of knowing if you responding to me or to someone who said something right before I joined, right? <1> bah. I hate people <1> if I was responding to someone before you...then you asked a question, my answer would have been confusing to them...and so I would have specified a name if I anticipated anything resembling a lack of clarity <0> yeah, okay <1> so there ya go...30 seconds of Purple irc logic <1> you are kinda like my wife when driving. she *always* signals lane changes and gets frustrated that I don't. <1> cept I always signal if there's somebody there to see it <1> it's easier for her to do it all the time, every time. I do it when it's needed. <1> some say potato...
<0> I've been googling for the last hour. So, anyone here know about a setup project adding a folder to the programs menu? <2> i must have better googlin' skills <1> ditto <1> envador: second link, or third? <2> purple: 3rd <2> the 2nd linnk is for windows mobile apps <1> dunno what you searched on differently from me...but mine is 3rd link too :) <2> too bad for uncaged. an hour deserves pity <1> not enough pity to actually post the link I found <1> that bastard is either really lazy or really ****ing stupid <1> maybe both <1> I sometimes wonder if this flavor of dumb/lazy is a product of too much information available. I don't think so...but I wonder what exactly I would do if I were trying to learn dev in this day and age <1> as opposed to *only* having a help file <2> hehe <3> quite <3> I spent ages googling to fix a compile problem on linux <3> eventually I found one page that looked relevant, but it was in czech <2> i think ppl need to learn how to read for content better. <2> speed reading for content <2> google does a good job of excerpting the good info <3> on the plus side, if I ever need to talk about multicast in czech, I'm sorted <3> btw, is this going to make me go to hell... <3> I got stopped by mormons today and I told them Jesus hates me <2> ask if you join their cult if you can have more three wives <2> more than* <1> tripe: no, that's just funny <3> I didn't turn round to see if they looked angry <1> saturday morning early...two chicks knocked on my door...I was in a good mood (they were prolly JWs) so I gave it a shot... <1> they talked for about two minutes about how marriage can be hard and we all need answers. then the first lady pulled out a bible...I just closed the door <2> were they hot? <1> if I'd had more time I would have invited them in dammit <1> not hot, but not hideous <4> .Net 2.0: I've got a DataGridView bound to a BindingSource which is bound to a DataTable. When a new item is being added, I want to set some defaults but I can't use e.NewObject in BindingSource.AddingNew because the BindingSource is bound to a DataTable. Any ideas how I might make this happen? <1> I love ****ing with JWs <3> not hideous is pretty much my target area <2> hehe <3> next time I want to use my killer line <3> "Jesus loves you" "Yeah, but only as a friend" <4> haha <1> I just like seeing the look on JW faces when I come downstairs with a big pile of books and notes. some of the books are reserved for their "elders" too...their common folk aren't allowed to have em <4> That sounds like fun. <3> my dad once answered the door to JWs and they just left <3> maybe because he was naked except for a plastic bag on his head <1> lol <3> I really wish I'd made that up <1> I think next time I'll introduce em to the girls <4> Oh boy, what girls? <4> There goes the neighborhood. <1> rainabba: my wife and girlfriend <4> :) <4> Yah, marriage can be hard I guess ;) <1> dunno how that relates to what I said... <1> marriage is pretty sweet <4> Sarcasm; that was my point. <2> they caught the vtech escapee <1> oh ****...I had my sarcasm filter off. sorry about that... <1> thought I'd jammed that ****er on permanently <2> how the F do you get away with a wife and a girlfriend <4> ****, a friend of mine has an agreement with his wife that so long as she meets the girl, approves, and doesn't have to see/hear about it, he can do as he pleases. Of course, before they got married, he was nailing a couple other girls (one was his ex-fiance) and she knew it but married him anyhow. <4> Gave me a new goal <1> rain: that one is sketchy and prone to failure...
<1> envador: marry a lesbian <4> I wouldn't disagree, but they've been married something life 4 years, they're on their 2nd child, and so far it's all good. <1> sweet. good for them <2> nice <2> hey i registered lesbopod.com the other day <2> since you mentioned lesbian <2> just reminded me. i also got fartpod and girsonmypod.com <2> girlsonmypod <4> You say something the other day about nakedwomanonmyipod.com too (or something like that)? <4> nm <1> these situations are still fairly rare in this world in most places...but hold onto the dream, it's out there <4> See, you said girlsonmyipod and I hear nakedwomanonmyipod :) <2> punk :P <4> better yet, nakedgirlsonmyipod.com <1> brb, I think I'm gonna go buy a guitar <4> So how bout my question regarding BindingSource.addingnew? <3> g'night all <4> Regarding BindingSource.AddingNew: MSDN2 says: "You cannot set the NewObject property when bound to a DataView or DataTable because you cannot add a new DataRowView to the list". This makes just enough sense that I suspect there's a way around the issue, but not enough for me to see how. Any idea how I might overcome this limitation? <4> In case anyone finds it useful, the solution I found was this. Instead of catching the row being added to the BindingSource, I'm catching DataGridView.RowsAdded, checking that .NewRowIndex > 0 && .NewRowIndex = e.RowIndex the setting my defaults via BindingSource.Current("PropertyName") <4> Previously I was setting values in the DataGridViewCell directly which just didn't seem right. <2> man who stand on toilet high on pot <4> Confusedious ? <2> yessage <4> Sometimes I question my sanity when I get so excited about finding a new method/event/property that lets me do something direct and logical in VB. It is both wonderful and sad at the same time. Anyone else relate? <2> guess not :P <5> yeah I know what you're talking about <4> I'm going to start a support group called VBA <2> hey. i'm putting on the show that i know everything in the world about the .net framework. stop interfering :P <4> We'll get drunk and talk code while recording ourselves. Then after we sober up, we'll watch the video and realize how screwed up we are. It will be a 1-step program. <6> hi <7> hey chris <6> hi sezn <6> i need ur help <6> about security software <7> k <8> anyone heard of the Shareware Startup Kit provided by microsoft for .net ? <9> explain poll for Basic_ <8> why? <9> explain poll for Basic_ <10> Basic_: Questions such as 'does anyone use/know (technology/product/api)' are pointless and only annoy people. If you have an actual question, ask it in the channel. <11> then give us some fried cheese <8> http://channel9.msdn.com/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=74998 <8> thats what i was taling about. <12> it's xa <9> yeah. but don't tell anyone <12> what's up dude <12> haven't seen you around in a while <9> just prepping for my interview in the morning <12> interview? <12> you hiring someone or prepping to be hired? <13> if i have a 1024byte byte array..and im getting binary data from one file..then i put it into an output file.. how do i clear the byte array each iteration of the loop <14> It'll be overwritten by the read operation anyway <13> well it doesnt..if i let it keep going.. once it hits 2.2gb (the output file) it says Bad Record File <14> That's not a problem with the byte array <12> That's a logic problem <14> Using Get # syntax? <13> Get #1,, byteArray <13> Put #2,,byteArray <13> in a while loop till EOF <14> http://www.codecomments.com/archive293-2005-4-473770.html <12> okay, maybe its a VB limitation problem. :) <13> yeah <13> okay ill try the api <14> Jump to .NET <14> FileStream supports 64-bit file sizes. <13> yeah i should <14> Although the file API is pretty simple <13> yeah ill try it for now <14> It's funny how rarely I have to resort to API anymore. <14> I had to sort a collection in VB6 recently. I was pissed at how much work I had to do myself. Not used to it. <14> I'm .NET spoiled. <13> haha <14> ****, with C# 3.0 it gets even easier. <14> I'll bitch about having to write an interface for the built-in quicksort algorithm when I've got lambdas ;(
