<0> hey dudes <0> whats up <1> circle jerk <0> no way <0> i gotta move one qmail+vpopmail config to another server <0> ;/ <0> moving my email from offsite to onsite <0> im beggining the process with tar zcfv /home/vpopmail and transfering it here... <0> then i guess i have to copy the mysql db over here <0> can someone help me with this? <0> man this one mother****ers mailbox is like 600m <0> what a ****stain <1> gross <0> dudes <0> im trying to take one vpopmail config <0> and move it to another server
<0> and i moved over /home/vpopmail * <0> however i cant seem to get it to recognize any users <0> or domains <0> kitchen: are you here? <2> look at your qmail control dir <2> you need to make sure to take some of those files too <2> and there might be something under another folder in qmail as well. can't remember what, but I think it contains a hash file with domains in it too <1> slak = gnak? <3> hia <4> dfdfdfdfdfdfdffd <3> 'sup AIChains <4> sup <4> superbowl today <3> back from conferance <3> hah, nice <3> hehe <4> oya! <3> heh i'm back to my ezmlm problems <4> sigh <3> indeed <4> startin to hate that app <3> well, just wish i could understand how it's suppose to behave <3> i thought the config file was a key element <3> but for some reason it doesnt seem to be, heh <4> manual changes to that file dont seem to matter <3> well <3> i thought it kept track of what was set on the list <3> so you could run ezmlm-make -e to recreate the ezmlm dir & file structures <3> which it seems to do, but it overwrites the config values <3> so maybe things are stored somewhere else, but thats the only file that contains things like the list-owner email addy <3> so i was almost damn sure that file was the kuy <3> key <4> i dont think things are stored elsewhere <3> i don't either <3> it might be some correct switch combination to find for ezmlm-make <4> i printed out the man page and went through it line by line <3> but i can't seem to find the correct one - yet <4> man ezmlm-make <3> nod <4> also googled for hours <3> browsed them too before i left last week <3> nod <4> heres the thing <4> even super simple configs dont act as you would expect <4> slit my wrists pls ? <3> AIChains nah there must be some other way <3> i just wish i had kitchen's or Volatile's pov on the subject <3> hrm if i understand these docs correctly, this should work: <3> ezmlm-make -e /usr/local/rqmail/vpopmail-5.5.0/domains/list.heretik.org/lediableaucorps /usr/local/rqmail/vpopmail-5.5.0/domains/list.heretik.org/.qmail-lediableaucorps lediableaucorps list.heretik.org <3> it does indeed recreate the dir & symblinks, but again the config file is rewritten and some options, like the list owner, are replaced by nothing <5> I can't believe people are honestly talking about SIS implementation in qmail. use http or something. ridiculous. <6> what's SIS? <7> ok, anyone have any idea why it takes 30 seconds for me to get a ESMTP prompt when I connect? I don't believe it's reverse because the ip's I connect from reverse almost instantly from the name servers configured on the box and I've tried disabling reverse lookup and it always takes 30 seconds every time <5> feature of exchange that might not be supported anymore, Single Instence Storage, so if you mail 1000 people a 50M attachment it only stores one shared copy instead of 50M*1000 of disk space <5> exactly 30 seconds? <7> yes <7> exactly 30 seconds <5> can you paste your run file for smtpd somewhere? <5> !paste <8> http://pastebin.com/
<7> it's a plesk managed box <5> game over. <7> I'm not even sure where plesk hides it, I know they move around all the qmail **** <7> :( <5> I dunno either <5> does it have a /service/ directory? <7> no <7> I've already checked under xinetd there is no wait on any of the mail services <5> it uses xinetd? oh bad. <5> I've only run life with qmail type set ups <9> cranky: the delay is probably ident lookup timeout <9> call plesk support and ask howto turn it off <7> well I actually thought of that <7> and I tried DMZing my local box to see if any services were trying to connect back <6> cranky <6> check dns timeouts <6> and rbl servers timeout if using any <6> gauze: (concerning SIS) no SIS in qmail. by design <7> ok I'll look, not sure why it would matter though, like I said i've tried disabling reverse lookups, and verified that my local ip reverses fromt he servers known name servers <3> hia deepdown <5> uh yeah I know <5> you apparently don't read the mailing list <9> hi df ! <5> someone was asking about it. I was commenting on how ridiculous anyone wanting that in 2006 is. <3> gauze that SIS thing could be indeed interesting, just wondered who would send a 50mb attachment <3> deepdown you wouldn't have any advice regarding my ezmlm nightmare, wouldn't you ? :) <5> use http. end of story. <9> i was at a customer the other day. 3.5GB exchange mail database. 146MB saved due to SIS <3> yeah, eacgly <9> (15 mail users) <5> 3.5G of mail is nothing <6> 3.5 gb exchange store ... funny <6> 38Gb ... <3> hmm doesn't seem like a good enough ratio to get into troubles to set that up <9> indeed <3> hmmmm <9> besides, storage is cheap <3> yeah <3> i can feel i'm close to smthing <4> close to throwing it out a window ? <3> i can't <4> yes u can. <3> besides i plan to use ezmlm for my www gui i'm orking on <3> all i want to understand is why it wont use the proper config settings as the man pages say it should <7> ok, it was ident <7> grrrrr not sure why DMZing the box didnt' work <7> but port triggering did <7> I trigger on 25 and all is peachy <7> thank you all for the help <7> I've had the service providers looking at this and they couldnt' figure it out <3> .. <3> i think i somehow get it <3> ezmlm-make -e /path/to/list will recreate the list based on the (i think) list/config file <4> you want the list creation syntax ? <4> i have all those one-liners in a notes.txt file <3> than ezmlm-list /path/to/listname | ezmlm-sub /path/to/new-list/ <3> would subscribe all users <3> yes <3> pls <4> i have to fire up my work laptop <4> hold pls <3> np <4> gonna take a few mins <3> atm i get this error: <4> i know what youre getting <4> dot-file <3> failure: ezmlm-send:_fatal:_key_does_not_exist/ <4> oh thats a nice one <4> hm <4> hold pls <3> nod <3> :)
