<2> Eyaw_Nayr, what does that nick mean, I'm having trouble pronouncing it.
<0> so , what s the problem with monk buying TV ?
<3> nothing really. Its pronounced E-yawh Neigh-er
<0> TheTailor , dont let me give u stat of homeless who live in shelter in USA :)
<0> u guys just show good part on TV and hiding the real fact
<3> Its all relative I guess, the number of homeless. Has it improved in Thailand?
<0> there are not so much homeless ppl here from what i see : eyaw
<0> our country is not that poor
<0> but the problem is ppl are lazy
<4> most homeless in the areas I've lived are veterans and/or people with mental problems who don't or can't aspire to not be homeless.
<4> There is a whole community in the woods near the Veterans Hospital in the cit I used to live in of vagrant veterans
<4> city*

<1> I was gonna say
<4> I saw 2 people give her $10... and yet she kept asking :P
<2> Preity, I was just wondering if things were economically helping those that were on the lower end of the scale in Thailand.
<5> We had a crackhead that was a regular in our old neighborhood
<5> she'd have the nuttiest pity stories
<1> TheTailor is still hitting on Preity
<4> I think I'd be more inclined to give a begger money if they were honest "Man, I just need some crack, can you spare $5 so I don't have to **** the dealers ****"
<2> compdoc, well good luck, God knows you need it :-)
<1> phffft
<0> yeah , even here .. we find beggars so rich
<0> and they make it organization
<4> Preity yeah, in larger cities here there are like unions of beggers... just like pimps and hookers.
<1> actaully, Im kinda cute - dont need luck
<0> sometime they steal child or and cut ppl's legs or hands and get them earn
<0> yep union

<4> like 800 people will organize and beg... then split the income equally and the organizer gets like 20%

<4> bet->but
<4> I delivered pizzas so I saw them all the time when I had deliveries downtown
<2> I saw a guy with a sign asking for 'money for food', the guy was fat!
<4> hehe
<7> Well, my mother taught me early about that stuff. She told me that giving money to people who beg, is not doing them any favor. She said it only encourages such bad behavior. She said if you want to do something .. give them a meal or a job, but never give them cash. And if they are rude to you, to tell them that your father worked hard for that money, and they should do the same.
<2> Years ago there was a guy that had a sign saying " I will work for food", so I offered him a job, he said, " Get out of here man!"
<2> CometBaby, that's what I do, I buy them food.
<7> TT I hear that story over and over from many people
<8> thats horrible
<8> people begging should be shot
<2> What's horrible?
<7> Sitting in McDonalds in Denver, a moocher came in. A man across from us, offered him all the change that was sitting on the table in front of him. The guy picked it up and threw it in his face (knocking his gl***es off) and said "I want paper money!"
<4> It was 95 F the other day and me and my dad were comming down off the roof of a McDonald's from fixing thier A/C, and this woman asks my dad for $0.25; he was pissed already and he said "climb yur fat *** up that ladder and get the rest of my **** and I'll give you $1.00" lol
<4> she left of course
<8> well, people begging after theyve been generously given enough
<7> td nobody is saying they should be shot except you. We are saying it should not be encouraged, and pointing out that in some cases, it is a job.
<8> I suppose they shouldnt be shot, but put into programs that can help them re-enter society
<4> td- they don't want to "re-enter society" they make more money begging than they do at a McJob
<2> CometBaby, I do find in perhaps half the cases where people ask for food that they are grateful to get food. Many just walk away when offered food, because they were just loking for money to buy booze with.
<4> It's hard to be a full time drug addict and work a full time mcjob too.
<7> td .. when we were in Austin (the capitol of mooching) .. we pulled up at a red light. There in the medium sitting on the cement (it had to be close to 100 degrees out) was a very young girl and a brand new baby. The father was mooching from cars at the light. Can you help me out for the sake of my baby?
<2> td-, yes, another 'program' for the taxpayer to pay for.
<7> It was all I could do to keep my husband from climbing out of the car and beating his ***. Who would put a new baby on a cement sidewalk to help you beg?
<7> how low is that?
<8> thats pretty low
<9> Memorial remembers those who sacraficed their lives defending the U.S. starting with the Civil War --
<8> what can you do
<2> Pathetic
<7> giving that boy money only encouraged him to do such things
<7> what he should have been *given* was a good *** kicking
<8> I woulda pounded him
<7> well, I dialed 911 and reported it as child abuse
<2> *** kicking should become more the norm...
<9> Reported situation to the police, correct
<8> we have some guy here that begs at a busy intersection outside a grocery store, he continues to beg even though its obvious he has a couple hundred dollars worth of groceries stacked up that people p*** him
<7> that newborn deserves something better than that
<8> at christmas time he was begging and had like 10 christmas gift baskets stacked behind him
<4> CometBaby should have called chldrens services
<7> AAAman my husband almost climbed out of the car. He cussed tht kid out and told that girl that she was a sorry excuse for a mother to allow her baby to be used like that
<7> KoB I was in a city where I did not live. I called 911.
<9> CometBaby -- Intervention to provide help for the baby
<7> maybe I could have done better but I figure the police will know the appropriate peopole to contact
<7> I had my hands full holding my husband back
<4> should hav just let him kick the guys ***
<9> Report to police, primary responders
<7> my husband is not a tough guy .. but when he flares up he would fight anyone
<4> while you borrowed a phone book to call children's services ;)
<7> we were in a car KoB
<7> 911 was good enough
<4> no shops nearby? :P sure it might have taken 15-20 minutes, but that guy deserves a 15-20min *** stomping
<9> Child Services typically uses police in emergency situations
<4> Anyway the main point I'm making... is the guy needs hi *** kicked
<4> his*
<8> wow, 2900 dead in indonesia
<8> that toll is climbing fast
