<2> Fr33Trade: The problem with a Dell is that they are highly prone to using a handful of proprietary critical parts that make it tricky to upgrade more than some very standard things like memory and hard drives, and perhaps video card. The motherboards are often not quite standard size, meaning you can't count on replacing it in the same case & power supply...ditto the power supply connections.

Some were horrible, some were easy to ungrade, which makes it so important to pay attention to available slots and bays and how many and what kind and so on and how much memory you can upgrade and what kind and so on, all before you buy the machine.
