<0> Freedom is hidden behind democracy which is hidden behind interest <1> They would come door to door like the fuller brush man. <2> FT why did they do that ? They had so many they could not use them ? <3> Free the Dumb! <1> Only they were selling foodstamps for cash <4> i think we should start a petition for the DNC to officially change their party name from Democrats to Donkeys <1> this was about 16 years ago. <5> I love my Bank of America Visa <6> Wow <6> Living off the government is becoming high-tech! <6> Up here I don't even know if food stamps exist <1> US, the money in lieu of foodstamps you could buy drugs or alcohol. <6> they just give you straight up cash <4> Herzen you can get your bene's from any ATM Machine <6> and lots of people spend it on booze and drugs <2> oh
<2> ok <2> FT: well the drugs, they could just trade the food stamps <1> Say you are on WICK you get food stamps and free food from a distribution plave. <1> So you many have plenty of food and want a little heroin to relax with. <7> i refuse to file for disability benefits while bush is in office <6> Pickle, do they have food stamps up here? <1> Why while bush is in office ? <1> That makes no sense. <4> the VA tracked my dad down <2> it might be they had so many food stamps from other transactions, they could not get rid of them <1> Why should it matter who is in office / <1> ? <1> If you are truely disabled you will get them, if you are not you wont, but I hear it takes a long time. But then i have never applied. <7> lol <8> Herzen: No. <2> I know that welfare was tightened in the 90's <6> you think we should? <2> I don't know if that includes food stamps <6> instead of just straight up payouts <1> Are you parapalegic ? Whats your disability ? <2> but there are all kinds of government ***istance programs <8> Herzen: Considering how food stamps are abused in the states I don't think it would make much difference, but yes, I'd rather see people getting those than cash. <9> They live together, have a kid together, own 2 late-model pickup trucks, 1 Chevy Lumina and a 1974 Corvette. But they won't get married because then the mommy and baby stop getting public ***istance. <9> If you can afford 4 cars, you can afford to feed your kid on your own goddamn dime. <8> Herzen: But it will never happen, because that would be too "degrading". <6> Pickle, on the 20th of the month <6> the Liquor Store here is 100% Indians <1> The only way to use food stamps I think is to force them to use an atm card which tracks what they buy... <9> Makes me want to set 3 of their cars on fire. <6> thats total abuse <10> Pickle...yer friend roybgiv was back last night <1> Oh wait, the ACLU would call that domestic espionage. <8> CryHavoc: Feel free to ban that miserable fascist at your leisure. <11> here they have similar to an ATM card for food stamps <2> now the US gives a Government-issued debit card instead of food stamps <12> FT: yep.. even thou it was working so well <10> FT...I think all states are using digital foodstamps now <9> Ack <2> so nobody knows you are using a food-card and not a debit card <9> forgot the first part of my post... <6> Lup|ne, in 1987 when the IRS started asking for the Social Security information of dependants that people claimed they had, 7 million Children in the USA 'disappeared' <10> the paper ones are kaput <9> The idiots who live across the parking lot from me make the case for bringing back common-law marriage, or at least amending WIC to force paternity disclosure in order to get ***istance so they can send part of the bill to Daddy. <1> I could make a small fortune by divorcing my wife and still live with her as a family. <9> They live together, have a kid together, own 2 late-model pickup trucks, 1 Chevy Lumina and a 1974 Corvette. But they won't get married because then the mommy and baby stop getting public ***istance. <8> I'm sick of that prick defending every fascist dictator just because he opposes the US. That's just anti-Americanism-by-extension. <9> If you can afford 4 cars, you can afford to feed your kid on your own goddamn dime. <12> Herzen: Yep <2> but the denit card has the same restrictions as the food stamps, I believe <2> debit <1> Just change the legal cl***ification. <2> no booze purchases <9> (there, proper context now intact.) <1> Stay m,arried in spirit but not by government. <0> cash is king <9> Pickle: which prick? <8> CryHavoc: DStewart just bans him when he starts talking these days, doesn't even bother addressing his blather. <12> FreeTrade if I wear this shirt at the next UCF "diversity day", do you think the ACLU would defend me? http://www.thoseshirts.com/images/diversitybk750.jpg <8> Disco: roygbiv <2> no booze on a foodstamp-card, and I don't know tehother restrictions
<9> ah <1> I could take all my profits divide them in 2 and each of us would have lower income and tax <1> brb <9> Even DStewart gives him the heave-ho any more, and he has the patience to put up with just about anyone's stupid ****. <11> the only thing you can buy on food stamps is food <12> janet: but with the stamps, people would trade them for cash.. <11> anything consumable is ok.. anything not, you cna not buy <13> janetb: i thought it was only nonprepared foods <12> with a debit card with their name on it.. well, less able to do that <11> Lup|ne. yeah I know thats why they switched to debit cards <9> US-Male: You can only buy certain types of food with food stamps. Those that are basically nutritionally worthless are excluded. No candy bars, potato chips, etc. <0> debt is an illusion <10> Lup|ne...that was part of the welfare reform bill... <12> I think in florida, you can buy "house hold necessities", such as toilet paper and the like thou <1> US you cant sell a debit card though.. well I suppose you could. <10> Paper food stamps are no more <2> DiscoTaco oh ok -- well I ***ume those restrictions were transferred to the Debit cards that they now issue <1> But you could require picture ID and a p***word which would at least help you.. <11> and they just keep the card, and the goverment adds to it every month <2> and with debit cards, it is much harder to abuse <12> Freetrade: ah.. but if you sell it, you not only lose that months, but all FUTURE months <1> Besides you wouldnt be selling one months food you would have to give them your card. <11> FT.. they do require ID <1> and then what if they dont give it back ? <12> FT: right.. hence, why it was so effective <2> since I can't give you my debit card for an oz of weed .. how would I buy my food <1> Janet, Now they do, they didnt used to. <11> FT.. true <0> we now need your finger-print <11> and they can not give the card away, they have to keep the card <2> stamps were not tied to an individual the way debit cards are -- and nobody will give up their one debit card for a single illegal transaction <11> the goverment, just credits the same card <2> I belive they keep that same card, like you keep your ATM card <2> keep it for long periods <2> and it is IDentified with their info <9> US-Male: I would ***ume so as well. The major way in which moving from paper stamps to stored-value cards is that it's harder to transfer their value. The big issue with food stamp fraud is that people were selling them for a fraction of the face value. Not to mention manufacturing counterfeits. <11> yeah.. as long as you are on the food stamp progam, you keep that card <1> Anyone started a pool yet ? <2> DiscoTaco yeah <1> Estimating the time before military action against Iran ? <10> Disco...damn right <9> US-Male: now the only way to transfer the value of a food stamp ATM card is to surrender the card itself, and now you have access to NONE of its value. <2> yeah that's unlikely <10> FT...we are not gonna touch Iran <4> I got ten on Pittsburg with the lil cutey at the C Store <2> not many people will be willing to do that <1> Cry, If they do what we say <11> we are not going into Iran <10> Iran would truly be a quagmire... <4> US-Male that is why you take your EBT card to the ATM and get CASH <10> 4 times Iraqs population...and a lot more males of fighting age <14> well of course not, unless there is a draft <1> I predict hmm One year at the very latest they are militarily confronted and no sooner than 6 months. <2> whats an EBT card <4> Electronic Benefit Transaction <11> it will have to be eurpoe that stops iran <2> oh that's the foodstamp card ? <4> ayup <5> what we should do is smuggle Pornography and Alcohol into Iran <2> DarthBurg: they can get cash ?? <9> US-Male: basically, ATM food stamps. <4> some EBT's have cash value, some do not. <1> That is of course predicated on the idea that Iran will not comply with any international or multilateral diplomacy <4> US-Male depends on their benefit level <4> but yes, they can get CASH <2> cash should obviously not be allowed on that card -- otherwise, no poin in having it <2> point <6> FreeTrade, they won't <6> I gurantee it <5> and Ipod's, lots of Ipods should be smuggled into Iran <11> US-Male.. some people get a cash benifit <4> the paperwork for the state drops by 40% <11> they get food stamps and cash <2> well -- I mean if the benefit is to replace food stamps
