<2> Generally, I'm socially somewhat 'liberatarian'. I like limited government involvement in people's personal lives. I think there should be social welfare programs, but I think that we need to rethink how we apply them. I agree with social security, I think it's been good for the elderly (in general) but that doesn't mean that we can't look into improving it and preparing something better for future generations of elderly.

<5> An 87 y/o eldery woman (retired, ex-doctor's ***istant of some sort) shot and killed a home intruder after having being the victim of a home invasion two months ago. During the first home invasion she was beaten and robbed and as a result her daugher purchased a revolver and gave it to her. In this instance, the intruder cut the lady's phone lines, removed the bars to a side window and began dis-***embling the front screen door.
<5> At that point the elderly woman, whose black eye from the first intrustion had just healed and who requires a walker to ambulate, fired 3 shots through the door and then waited for her daughter to arrive. The intruder had a significant criminal hx (can't remember the details) and was killed. The DA says they won't be pressing charges.
