<0> http://www.answers.com/topic/greenhouse-gas <1> OcDoc which is why CSU atmospheric sciences wants to get readins from not only ground level like we do now, but from all portions of the atmosphere, to get a much clearer icture of what changes are taking place, shot down by the global warming freaks <2> is the decrease in reflective surfaces causing more heat to be absorbed by darker ocean surfaces? <3> Linus-, well lets study it for the milisecond of geologic time and find out, call me in 1000 years <4> and then some <5> If we could just turn *down* the sun, we wouldn't have to reduce our emissions at all! <6> bud: maybe they should raise their own funding instead of stealing money from me <0> Ocdoc a green house gas contributes to the green house effect, you admit there are green house gases you must now have know what you were saying then because a green house gas contributes to trapping heat on earth. <4> yeh maybe the sun is out to get the earth <1> OcDoc they dont want your money. havent I made that clear? <5> I think I shall call this the "C. Montgomery Burns Approach To Global Warming." <0> Co2 traps heat to earth better than it reflects heat from the sun. <7> lol <2> TheTailor, there will never be 100% concurrence on this issue; isn't it best that we put forth some effort to prevent potentially disastrous consequences? <6> sintient: I must nothing ... it is a multifactorial system with unknown but complex interactions ... even the most sophisticated models are chaotic <3> sintient, the so called 'green house effect' would cause more clouds and rain, the rain would cool the atmosphere and the clouds would reflect solar heat, causing cooling, not warming.
<2> look at how much we waste on pork barrel "security" dollars <7> monty burns = cheney hehe <8> http://www.mises.org/studyguide.aspx?action=subject&Id=134 <1> OcDoc what part of resigning from a federal/political project and resorting to blogging about what's really going on dont you understand <2> allegedly to fend off disatrous terrorists attacks <3> Linus-, it's always best to build things we use that are friendly to the Earth. <6> sintient: maybe they should work for themselves instead of a government agency so no one can "shoot down" their research? <6> I meant bud <2> a big unknown x factor <1> OcDoc they do not work for a govt agency <0> I just told you the properties chemically and physically of co2 dictate they trap heat to earth better than it reflects heat. <3> Linus-, better to use ethanol than gasoline. <2> on that we agree <3> Linus-, think about that one <6> bud: I understand that they went to work for the government hoping to get political blood money to prove their agenda <6> bud: but they were disappointed by a regime change <2> although ethanol production is not much more eco-friendly <1> OcDoc then you dont care to listen to what is explained to you <6> bud: sure I do <1> because your ***umptions are all wrong <3> Linus-, what is Bush promoting...switchgr*** ethanol <9> ho0w exactly do greenhouse g***es cause rain <6> bud: I just don't believe you or them <8> The greenhouse effect is why life is possible on Earth. <2> TheTailor, i believe in action, not talk <3> Linus-, ethanol production is very clean <3> Linus-, if you believe in action.ook around <0> It's a balance squeeg. <3> look around <2> the ***ignment of 5 billion to oil companies to research alt fuels negates his words imo <6> bud: I remember the exact opposite situation twenty years ago when the democrats blacklisted a piece of research into acid rain because it failed to prove their agenda <4> at this point this has gone beyond everys ones head i think <10> It takes 1.4 gallons of gas to make 1 gallon of ethanol <0> Doesn't the production of ethanol cost more energy than it will producec? <1> OcDoc one of the best atmospheric scientists in the nation, who does not have a role in your federal govt, was handpicked by Bush to lead a fact0-finding team. It was not his choice, it was not something he asked for.. understand so far? <2> thet, well, I'm basing my comments on brazil's production from cane <9> squeed not correct eithier, life on earth is possible due to the presence of some obscure kind of sulphur water and the right amount of heat <0> heh at least the corn ethanol isn't nearly efficient. <2> it causes quite a bit of particulate pollution <6> okay ... gotta go target some trees for cutting ... bye <3> Linus-, what makes you think it all went to oil companies? <1> jack*** <4> murder <2> i know 5 bil did <6> gotta preserve the views ... have fun trying to prove your point <3> Linus-, this isn't Brazil. <10> Hey, how bout that gay marriage amendment? Right on cue <1> im not trying to make a point..... <4> i have a real good point about driving safty: <7> i mean to me its pretty obvious than when you overwhelm a natural entity with unnatural behaviour you're going to have serious repracusions, history is full of it, over hunting = exstinction, over fishing = same, over logging, adding more noxious gases to the atmospher etc, our natural world is full of evidence that shows it leads to bad things happening. <4> old people should drive neon green cars with flags on them <2> when you process the cane there are burned off particulates <3> Linus-, GM is getting a mess of money for hydrogen research, as are many others <2> large carbon particulates if i recall correctly <8> sintient, it's somewhat of a balance. It won't stay in balance unless we do something proactive to keep it that way. That means more technology and energy "consumption" (redirection), not less. <0> OcDoc is as bad as ted kennedy. <4> old peopel are the worst driver, and they make the roads a safer place. <10> I love Ted Kennedy <3> Linus-, not in the US, and why would there be that typen of polution, it's not part of the process. <4> i un safer place i mean <10> Ted Kennedy is a godsend
<4> ted was a good driver <11> lol <12> ted the drunk <3> Linus-, where inb the ethanol production process would there be that typeof polution? <0> I am not happy teddy blocked the off shore wind farm. <10> Bush is a great President <8> subjazz, I'll concede that. Life would be possible without it. I should have been more specific. I meant life as we know it. <0> Not a good precedent. <10> Bush the crackhead <11> Ted has ethonal coarsing through his veins <4> ted is the man <2> I'm not abreast of the by products created with the creation of ethanol from sources other than sugar cane <4> drink and drive@!!! <2> so i won't speak to that <10> 3 Dui's for Bush Cheney <0> Isn't it the same thing fermentation of plant matter. <4> name them <2> but its been pretty much a fact that by-products are created in the processing/refining of any fuel source <13> Guest96, you are devoiced (Requested by TheTailor - Reason: DUMBbot ) <4> man can any one source that dui info? <4> or is it lies <0> Alcohol is the bi product as sugars get broken down by bacteria. <3> Linus-, the bi product from ethanol is cattle feed. <4> its a poi9son <12> heh that nick reminds me of the mc chris rap song.. . my backpack's got jets. . i'm boba the fett. . i bounty hunt for Jabba hut to finance my vette <2> TheTailor, from corn? <14> lol <3> Linus-, yes, and Zein <2> depends on the source of the ethanol of course <4> what is jet fuel <12> sorry timur = = it had to be done! <2> it takes energy to extract energy <11> good song MsDracula! <4> its not ethynol is it <4> its like kerosine <3> Linus-, you can heat a still with ethanol :-) <3> Linus-, http://www.ars.usda.gov/is/AR/archive/apr02/corn0402.htm <2> ok <7> man how many damned investigations are there now into iraqi civilians beig murdered or executed by marines, [i hasen to ad the word CLAIMED MURDERS] ? <7> seems like there is loads <15> Nemes: yea right before midterm elections <2> I'm all for ethanol production increases <3> Nemes, it's a press feeding frenzy <7> ya <2> i just worry that people will think its the silver bullet <15> I stand by the USMC, f the press <1> Nemes U.S. Marines kill babies, it's common knowledge, hopefully the BBC will bring to light the savagery these young men dish out <0> http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2002/05/03/tech/main508006.shtml greater levels of carniogens at ethanol plants than expected <2> seems currently the cleanest burning auto fuel is vegetable oil waste <3> Linus-, there are LOTS of alternatives to paying the arabs for oil, and at these prices, that's exactly what is going to happen. <7> i mean i think I can see a coverup in one of them -maybe- hasnt been proved yet so... but it does look like the press is gobbling up every word they're beign fed from iraq by iraqi civilians <3> sintient, than expected? <7> at least it looks that way at the moment <3> sintient, that doesn't say jack **** <2> TheTailor, have you seen anything about the russian gas company that is popping up gas stations in the NE? <3> Linus-, no. <16> Bush says he withheld his 1976 DUI arrest in Maine from the press so he wouldn't have to talk to his daughters about it, apparently thinking they might copy his bad example. <2> in record numbers, going head to head with exxon mobil <2> ukutil or something <17> SpecSharp, you are devoiced (Requested by TheTailor - Reason: Trolling, and BAD trolling at that. ) <2> they currently own the second largest amt of oil reserves behind exxon <2> so next we might be underwriting putin and not the sauds <14> Chomsky speaks at West Point: http://www.alternet.org/blogs/video/36841/ <3> Linus-, so buy a hybrid <7> there is one investigation thats found the amrines not guilty or rather found no evidence of misconduct <7> so thats one out the way <1> why buy a hybrid when you can get a propane install for a few hundred bucks <3> Propane is still fossil fuel <2> TheTailor, if i could afford one, id own one :/ <1> oh yeah, listening to big influences <0> Its study echoed a 1999 National Research Council panel that concluded that neither ethanol nor MTBE did much to reduce smog, and a 2001 study by a coalition of Northeastern states that said wide replacement of MTBE with ethanol could result in additional ozone and toxic emissions. <8> I'm for ethanol if it's the economically most viable option. Otherwise we just cripple the economy. A poor economy means more poor people who don't really care if their wood/dung stoves are bad for the environment. It means more people who can't afford newer fuel-efficient cars or EnergyStar appliances. It means more small-scale sustenance farming, which is far less efficient per acre than commercial producers. Just a few examples. <1> TheTailor a clean burning fossil fuel that is 1/2 the price of gasoline <0> I think when they state a certain level of carnigen and then the actual release of carcinogens are many times greater that is saying something.
