<0> how do I see a pictures watermark?
<1> with a special blacklight
<2> Well
<2> lol
<2> there are many types of watermarks
<2> the "invisible" kind and the transparent kind..
<2> Guys tell me if you like the site
<2> www.microhaxo.com
<2> go to contacts and see if my online chat thingy is working
<2> Guys, anyone know any good spots for freelancing graphics jobs?
<3> Scott are you around??
<3> i got a question thats confusing me is anyone around??
<4> yo
<5> whats poppin, pinhead
<5> hello darling
<5> ive missed you

<5> ive been reveling alone in my graphical supremacy
<6> damn this coding
<6> always more to do
<7> best method to reproduce the dropdown menu animations [here: http://www.webagent007.com/2003/]? maybe some sick animated gif application or a tween method/function/tut?
<8> if i have two images with the same dimensions... how can i select the same region in both images with photoshop. I have set the size of my selection box to a fixed size and want to tell it to go to the same place in 2 files so i can copy whats there
<9> humate: no need to set fixed size. just drag and drop your selection to the other image (with selection tool)....but before you let go of the mouse button, hold shift. so basically it's drag-shift-drop....not shift-drag-drop
<8> aghh yes thanks valacar :)
<9> no prob
<9> btw, it only works for documents of the same size...if they're not the same size, the selection will get centered when you do it
<8> cool
<8> i have microscope images that i need to make figures of
<8> so u have one image that uses one fluorescent probe and another with a different one... so needed to select to same cell each time
<8> what i dont understand is that the cells are tiny... and the submission guidelines to this journal say that u shouldnt
<8> resample image
<8> so it tells u to uncheck that in image > image size
<8> heh... and then the images are just tiny
<9> what size are the images?
<8> so u could just zoom in on the original... but then it goes all blurry... it would just be better to resample
<8> 900 pixels by 586
<8> but about 150 pixels by 150 pixels is the selection i make for a single cell
<9> that doesn't sound tiny to me
<9> relative to your image size
<8> hrmmm... well i have to make the figure 6 inches by 6 inches
<8> its meant to fill the width of a piece of normal sized a4 paper
<8> there guidlines say:
<8> To check the size and resolution of the image in Adobe Photoshop, select "Image Size" in the "Image" menu. Make sure the "Resample Image" box in "Image Size" dialog window is not checked and the "Width", "Height", and "Resolution" boxes are linked by the graphic chain. (It may be necessary to click twice on the "Resample Image" box to establish this link.) This will mean that no resolution (i.e., dots or data) is lost when reducing the dimensions of
<8> Set the print size to the desired size of the image in the printed journal and make sure that the resolution at this size is equal to or above 300 dpi.
<8> dunno what that means
<9> ah, 300 dpi...somehow you need to to get it twice as big or a bit more
<8> hrmmm i am not quite sure what they mean by all of this
<9> you can't get a higher resultion when you acqure the image from your microscope?
<8> well u see its a bit strange because the software u use to view your microscope images... well it doesnt save the whole image... it just saves what u see in the window... so its just like print screen really
<8> so if u zoom in and then save as a photoshop file... it saves what you see
<8> so if u zoom right out it saves that and u cant see anything... but it doesnt retain any sort of data because if u try and zoom back in its just a mess
<8> so i just saved the files as photoshop files with 100% zoom
<9> hmm, I dunno...somehow you need to capture with more detail (i.e. more pixels)
<8> the original image is 1024x1024
<8> but i only need to select a small portion of that
<9> can't go higher than 1024x1024?
<8> nope
<9> that like 3.4 inches if you output it at 300 dpi
<9> and they say 300 dpi or above
<8> hrmmm
<8> when u take the image on the microscope all selecting 1024x1024 does is increase the field of view... say instead of doing 512x512
<8> u just see more with 1024x1024... so maybe this isnt the number of pixels?
<8> argg i dont get this stuff hehe
<9> not sure either...you have any one to talk to that's doing the same thing?
<8> no one knows how to do it properly that i work with
<8> 1024x1024 i think is juts the field of view... the resolution of the camera must be fixed?
<9> yeah, resolution is probably fixed,..kinda like a digital camera's megapixel resolution.
<8> yep i think so
<8> because when u change that setting u just get a bigger field of view
<8> which cant be resolution
<4> hi
<4> i know this isnt a html channel but there are smart people in here
<9> I don't know...I suppose you could take like 4 different "shots" in like a grid pattern and piece them together to get an image with more pixels. 'cause even at 1024x1024, of which you're only using a portion of, printing out at 300dpi would be less than 6 inches
<4> um i have a forum in phpbb, and was wondering if anyone knows how to put the forum section of the phpbb index into the index.html so it can be on the main pageof my site
<4> so i dont have to make a link
<4> the forum can just be in the index
<10> redirect index to the index of the forum?
<8> not me skunky- sorry... mabye try #linux

<4> yes
<4> like
<10> there are multiple ways to do that...
<4> not tryin to spam the site isnt linked, its dead. but its www.carnageart.com
<10> you could use a meta refresh to redirect
<4> check it out, i wanted to throw the forum in the middle of it
<4> meta refresh?
<10> oh
<4> hehe im not to good with thisd
<4> i have a strong will to do it
<4> but im limited. trying to learn quick tho (:
<10> you don't want to redirect the user
<10> you want to include the content of your forum on your main site
<4> instead of the text Welcome to WhitRhino text i wanted to put the forum in that middle part.
<1> zanyone know any good sites to get photoshop patterns from?
<4> yes
<4> <oblive> you can make ur own patterns bro
<1> i know
<4> off anything you want
<4> o
<10> i wonder if you could use an iframe
<4> yea i heard of that
<1> but was looking for some things in particular that i thought i may be able to find premade ****
<4> i use dreamweaver i didnt know if iframe would be any different
<4> someone told me to
<9> are you talking about the middle of the table?
<4> yes
<4> um one sec
<4> ill mark my site
<4> so u know wher e i mean
<9> I've never used any forum script, but I think most of them have a template you can edit, so you can customize it to your site
<9> kinda seems like you're starting from scratch and not editing a template
<4> http://www.carnageart.com/main/
<4> see wher it says <Forum here...>
<4> http://www.carnageart.com/board
<4> is where my forum is
<9> yeah, that's what I figured
<4> o ok
<4> i'd ask drew but
<8> valacar i think i am just doing something wrong... if i save my microscope image and open it in photoshop how do i find out what resolution it is?
<4> hes to much of a smart *** for me
<4> hehe
<4> to negitive
<8> image > image size ?
<9> humate: look in the info palette (F8 key)
<4> but the forum is php and the index is html
<4> :/
<8> hrmmm its just a load of numbers next to RGB and CMYK
<8> when i told u the resolution before i did image > image size... and then told u the bit under "pixel dimensions"
<9> humate: ah, it shows it in photoshop cs2...maybe you got an old version, in which case, I think you can alt-click on a certain part of the statusbar (on the bottom)
<9> yeah, image size would show you too
<8> aghhh ok
<8> yeh alt click works
<8> its 300dpi
<8> 900 pixels by 586
<9> if you divide 900 pixels by 300 (dpi), that's 3 inches wide which you output
<9> so like I said, you need more pixels (i.e resolution)
<9> should be something like 18000px by whatever
<9> er, 1800
<8> the single image doesnt have to be 6 inches
<8> because it will be comprised of multiple smaller images
<8> 6 images is just the canvas size
<8> 6 images = 6 inches
<9> oh
<8> i wasnt clear :)
<8> sorry
<8> i dont really understand this stuff
<11> im making a double border.. first a 1px stroke and then i use canvaz size 1px.. but then it makes too much border.. have a look please
<11> http://img518.imageshack.us/my.php?image=hmih3.jpg
<11> what could this be
<9> so just make a new document that's 6 inches by whatever and then paste your 900x586 pic into that
<2> wtf
<9> at 300 dpi (if that's what you're gonna use)
<2> did that image HAVE TO BE THAT BIG i mean really..
