<0> Anyone know where I might find "***ym.h" to build sys/arch/i386/stand/boot in 4.0?
<1> hmmmm... AGod, I find it in /usr/src/sys/arch/i386/compile/<whatever>, and, in /usr/obj/sys/arch/i386/stand/etc
<1> but that's on my system, using locate(1).
<0> it's not on my system anywhere (via find / -name "***ym.h") ...I extracted the src.tar.gz tree... perhaps I am missing something?
<1> ***ym.h is BUILT when you build a kernel.
<0> ahhhh no wonder
<0> this is a new install
<1> lol
<1> build a kernel, then you'll have it.
<0> I couldn't figure out why it was on all my other obsd boxes heh
<0> thanks
<1> I love locate(1). Saves me from having to find(1) everything.
<0> I'll look into that =)
<2> hello, I'm running OBSD4.0 apache chrooted, postfix, and zencart1.3.7xish, when I attempt to send mail from within zencart it complains that it cannot instanciate PHP's mail function, when I set zencart to use sendmail or sendmail -f it acts like the message is sent but it is not and doesn't show up in my postfix /var/log/maillog. Any Ideas?
<2> can someone post the mail portion of their /var/www/conf/php.ini

<3> l
<4> anyone here have this problem im having with en.wikipedia.org ?
<5> depends on what the problem is.
<4> using NAT and any provate address greater that say 192.168.0.150 i get a 45 seconds timeout from that site
<4> anything berlow that IP works
<4> i've tested it on iptables and pf both do the same thing
<4> i guess its just the morroring they have that's causing it.
<4> its just really odd
<6> I dont see how your internal address space would affect ... well, anything past your gateway.
<4> me either
<4> its got me stumped
<7> heh
<7> usually it's the "opposite" that happens
<7> IPs can be misleading, because of the netmask
<4> wonder if its squid
<7> is it possible that things above 150 are outside your subnet and thus don't get routed properly (or at all)
<4> they are suing squid
<4> its a /24
<4> works fine on other sitres
<7> ah
<4> just not wen.wikipedia.org
<4> really od
<7> well if your gateway is NATting your connections, the proplem isn't going to be wikipedia, but you, as from wikipedia's point of view (and the rest of the internet's) it is your NAT router that is initiating the connection
<4> i bet if you tried it you wold find it wont work for you either
<7> well, I can tell you it works from here where I am
<7> my ip here being 10.3.4.215
<4> are you natted and using an IP greater than .150 ?
<7> and at home it works too and my ip being 10.19.84.254
<4> right
<5> same here, it tried with 192.168.0.2 and 192.168.0.243. works the same.
<4> i might try it out with a 10....
<4> instead of 198..
<4> right ok
<4> are you using pppoe ?
<5> No..
<7> nope
<4> ok
<4> hmm
<5> pppoe is most surely the problem then cause it fragments packets.
<7> knofte: if you're not careful to set the MTU properly, yes
<5> u need to change your mtu to 1492(or less) to not fragment packages.
<4> yea mines at 1492
<5> nicolas: --^
<4> or nat wont work
<5> sty|work: try lower.
<4> ok
<7> actually, it should't cause problems, as mtu discovery should work .... but obviously fails
<7> but it should fail with EVERY ip address he uses
<4> yea
<5> Well, mtu could cause this problem easily.. Thus not using pppoe to other things than vpn.
<4> thats where i get lost
<5> nicolas: well iphead for 100+ is greater than for <99..
<4> all works fine with 192.168.0.100 ip
<7> knofte: no it's not
<5> could be the breaking point.
<7> all ip addresses are 32 bits long
<7> ipv4 that is
<5> Well **** it then.. disable pppoe and try again :p
<4> hehe
<4> er., encyclopedia

<4> thanks for your imput, i'll go experiment some more
<7> that would also work wouldn't it :P
<8> i don't recall if MTU discovery works under ppp
<8> for some reason, i think it doesn't, an dthe presumed MTU is smaller than 1492.
<7> in honour of Christopher Columbus isn't it?
<7> :D
<8> heh
<8> GOD BLESS AMERICA
<8> or something
<9> woof
<9> hahaha
<9> want my G4/350?
<8> heh
<9> it's super fast
<8> sure :)
<9> sadly
<8> i betcha it FLIES in comparison to this little beast
<9> it had 1.5 gigs of ram back in the day
<9> so it actually was a kick*** machine
<9> then I replaced it for 1/4 the cost with a mac mini
<9> that made me cry
<8> unsurprising
<8> the G3 was free
<9> they're pretty
<8> i chucked in some spare ram, slapped in a couple good sized drives
<9> yeah that
<9> that's the plan for my g4
<8> and stuck it in the corner
<9> then use it to backup a friends systems
<9> amen
<8> it's been serving up mp3s and movies/video
<8> doing a great job, too
<8> not bad for a 350mHz system
<9> yeah. PC people don't seem to get it
<9> this stuff should work for ten years heh
<8> or more
<9> well usefully
<9> vs. working =)
<8> depends on what you need it to do
<9> true
<9> but an 8086 is useless
<9> I got an original palm pilot, 128k, not much good
<9> keeping it to show my kids though
<8> a friend of mine has a system that's magnitudes faster than anything i use/own
<9> heh I got off that horse
<8> and he bitches that it's 'too slow'
<9> now I'm all about screen real estate
<9> your system may be faster, but I got 3, soon to be 5 LCD's
<9> jb: the sad thing is I bet his system does feel slow
<8> found out he's running some cracked out version of linux, and full X etc
<8> yeah
<9> I know my current 2ghz system feels about the same as my 486 running linux/X
<9> does about the same **** to (email, web, music)
<8> scary
<10> whats your 2ghz system run?
<9> XP
<9> it's an AMD something
<9> 2 gig ram, an ati PCIX and a PCI card (4 output) with 3 LCD's
<9> and .. a hard drive, 2 optical drives
<9> 3 actually
<9> and lots of usb junk jacked in
<9> it's basically a giant dumb terminal (courtesy of firefox)
<8> heh
<9> and peripheral interface
<8> i like portability
<9> sadly it uses quite a bit of cpu power to do it's work
<8> i've been living off of laptops for the last 4 years
<9> yeah
<9> I'd love to
<9> but I need screens
<8> that's my only complaint
<9> so I'm moving all my stuff to the web so it doesn't matter what I use
