<cajuncook> and so i show up at their apartment about 5 hours ago

<cajuncook> anyway, their rabbit was dead in its cage

<cajuncook> at first i thought it was sleeping and i got their cat food an water
<cajuncook> but then i went over to the cage.. it wasn't moving.. wasn't breathing
<cajuncook> i opened up the cage to poke it.. no response
<cajuncook> it was cold, hadn't been breathing for quite some time
<cajuncook> and there's just no reason i can tell why it died
<cajuncook> it had food in its dish, water in its bottle

<cajuncook> about 2 years
<cajuncook> pretty young and in good health
<cajuncook> i think the cat just literally scared it to death
<El_Diablo> that's entirely possible
<cajuncook> the cat was pawing at the body after i moved it once
<cajuncook> so, who knows
<cajuncook> i put it in a trashbag and threw it in the frezer
<cajuncook> pat didn't seem all that bothered by it when i called him
<El_Diablo> wikipedia suggests rabbits live from 4-10 years
<cajuncook> yeah, this was definitely a premature death
<cajuncook> tops she was 2.5 years old
<cajuncook> i was just a little shaken by it, i guess
<El_Diablo> did you leave it in the freezer?
<cajuncook> but it won't be the last dead animal i handle

<cajuncook> aavec puts their dead animals in frezers to preserve the body and retard the rotting process
<cajuncook> we decided that'd be the best idea
<El_Diablo> well, yeah, I know why it went in the freezer, but is he going to bury it or something?
