<jpnance> OU, who was basically ***ured a spot in the national title game in 2003 whether or not they won the conference title game, went ahead and lost to k-state
<jpnance> OU still went to the title game, but k-state, having won the conference title, got an automatic bid into the fiesta bowl
<jpnance> had OU won that game, the longhorns would very likely have been selected as an "at large" BCS pick as we were ranked like 5th or 6th at the time
