<3> McCabe is not that bad defensively. I would say he's better than average actually. Is he as solid as other top defenders? No. But he certainly can do a good job.

He has a point shot that is not only hard and accurate but also has the uncanny ability to find its way through crowds of people to get to the net. He is also underated defensively by Leaf fans. Perhaps most importantly, McCabe is very competative and he does not give up even when he is having a bad night.
