<0> ok - consider this setup.. a Dell 2950 as mail/db server, Dell 1950 as webserver, and a SonicWall TZ150 as a router/firewall. Maximum traffic will be 3mbps sustained with about 50 requests/sec to the webserver. I'm concerned about the Sonicwall choking out.
<1> hmm
<1> what's the throughput on the box?
<0> stateful throughput is 30mbps+

<0> per specs
<0> max 2000 connections
<0> but i don't know
<2> does anyone know if there is something I need to do in the cisco 2950 in order to get it to p*** along dhcp requests
<2> it seems to be eating all udp 255.255.255.255 connections on any port
<2> dhcp uses port 67 I think so how can I get that through the cisco to my dhcp server on another switch port?

<5> ty hon
<2> anyoneknow about my dhcp problem ?
<6> hello guys, im wondering if setting the linksys router to "router" rather than gateway will make it act like a repeater
<2> well its still a router so it will "route"
<2> even if it has only one destination possible

<2> it will end up acting like a bridge
<2> when you say repeater I ***ume your goal is to extend a cable distance limtiation?
<2> if so then yes...the router regenerates the new signal so your cable length limit is reset
<6> hmm
<6> so it will work....
<6> well let me try it.... i wonder how you set it up....
<3> [\snowe\] oh hells bells
<4> wb and mornin snowebabe
<1> in ethereal, what does it mean when a packet is highlighted in red?
<7> I am seeing some activity on port UDP 53 outgoing. It's minor, but would there be activity on that port if no one is browsing the internet
<5> ty and mornin hon, just now saw this, sorry...
<3> [snowe] oh hells bells
<8> How do I configure my router to handle local packets with my public ip dest, so the router handles them directly before they leave the network
<8> i have 2 machines that want to play on a game server. M1 starts the game, M2 wants to join and sees M1 as <public ip>:<M1 port> and tries to connect. The router sees the packet and doesn't realize <public ip> is really local, and should route it to M1:<M1 port>
