<4> Could someone help me out a little with choosing an internet provider? I am trying to stream 32 seprate streams of live video back to a server. Each stream is comming from a comcast line, and I am unsure what I need to host the server on.
<0> Dont understand what you mean
<4> I own a security company. In common systems you have say 8 cameras go to a DVR at the business location. We are now able to offer a solution where we come and install the cameras, but stream the video to our server over the internet. It is recorded and stored there.
<4> I was hoping that the server could connect through a DSL line, however, I am thinking that I will need something better then a T1
<4> Or a DSL line, that I need a t1
<0> I would say so...
<4> By my math, i would need about 8mbp/sec But I dont see how that is right =( Right now over a comcast line I am able to stream 8 with no real problem
<5> A full 8m is unlikely with DSL, unless you're real close. You'd need several T1s for that much.
<5> If you're going to be providing this solution going forward, your bandwidth requirements are only going to scale up. You might want to consider putting your servers in a datacenter somewhere.

<5> Perhaps a fractional DS3 to your location would be an option as well.
<0> or if he has Fios
<0> offer 50/10 now
<5> If you can get Fios, that would be a great option.
<4> What is Fios?
<4> Fiber, duh
<4> Fios is not availiable in our area
<6> grr. I'm sick and tired of whining idiots. This guy emailed me at work to complain because "I have a download accelerator and use rapidshare so I always max out my connection and instead of 500-550KBps I get 430KBps all of a sudden, what's wrong, fix it!" and also "my ping times to game servers in New York have gone up! I get 62ms now!"
<6> feel like telling this people to switch ISP's cause good lord there's simply no pleasing them at all
<4> The tornado's in FL hit the gulf of mexico?
<7> [snowe] oh hells bells
<8> hello
<9> im trying to port forward port 12345 but on my router webpage it asks for source ip, dest ip, source netmask and dest netmask.. what does it want for these... say my computers ip is 10.0.0.3 and my routers ip is 10.0.0.2 ?
<10> hello
<10> I am wondering
<10> I have read somewhere that socks5 is able to handle encrypted traffic just like VPN
<10> is that default for socks5 or is it rare?
<7> [\snowe\] oh hells bells
