<0> how do I remove an email from bulk.incoming and put it into my regular mail?
<1> how can i activate my swap without gettin the following message
<1> swapon: LABEL=SWAP-sda2: Device or resource busy
<2> can any one help me get my swap started ... i get the following message: swapon: LABEL=SWAP-sda2: Device or resource busy
<3> hello
<3> guys how do i install proftpd
<3> on mandriva 06
<4> hi all. i have a network of 5 linux boxes. One is a firewall/internet gateway. One is a load balancer and the last is a web server (there will be more web servers). The other two are standby machines for the firewall and load balancers. Because of the active/standby configuration, I have VIPs for all 3 interfaces on the firewall and both interfaces on the load balancers.
<4> I can get to the firewall from the internet and to the internet from the firewall but I can't get to the internet from the load balancer or the web server. Default route on the firewall/gateway is my ISP's internet router. Default route on the load balancer is the vip of the firewall that is in the same subnet as the public interface of the load balancer. Default route on the web server is the vip of the private interface on the load balanc
<4> Is there something else I should be doing? I have net.ipv4.ip_forward = 1 in /etc/sysctl.conf on both the firewall and the load balancer. What else am I missing?
<5> How can i add/remove boot scripts in slackware 10?
<6> any of you guys using keepalived + iptables?
<0> jullo i think its like /etc/rc.*
<0> unless they use like launchd or something
<7> how do i record a live .rm stream?
<8> Hmm. Totally getting an unresolved symbol from /usr/lib64/libc-client.so.0 on RHEL. The missing symbol is "mm_dlog" .. rpm isn't claiming any missing dependencies or problems with the package. weird

<8> not sure where it wants to find that mm_dlog symbol. ldd on that file is showing all of the libraries as being found, and all of those were installed by proper RPMs. (except /lib64/libcrypto.so.4 and libssl.so.4 - which are symbolic links created outside of rpm)
<8> any ideas as to where I could find that missing symbol or otherwise fix this libc-client library? heh
<8> ah, I think it's a bug and related to php's versioning suport.
<9> when i run tcpdump -w, I dont see where the binary output is going, anybody know how to capture raw pacets to a file with tcpdump?
<9> on centos
<10> uhh
<10> really?
<1> can any one help me get my swap started ... i get the following message: swapon: LABEL=SWAP-sda2: Device or resource busy
<10> swapon -s
<1> Filename Type Size Used Priority
<1> /dev/sda2 partition 1052248 144 -1
<10> ok...?
<1> ?
<10> what else are you trying to do?
<11> If it's showing with swapon -s, then it's already using it.
<11> So the resource IS busy - as your swap device :)
<11> ? IQ test? Do we have an official one of those yet?
<12> nah
<12> i think the y just figure nebraskans can't p*** by default
<13> ****.... tape drive went
<13> gotta pull that tomorrow
<14> Is there a way I can set transparency to show other windows in gnome instead of just the wallpaper?
<15> whats the difference between ubuntu/kubuntu? (except kde/gnome) ?
<15> thought you could get either kde/gnome for ubuntu, anyway ....
<16> just the default install is all, and a guess now the since the installers are livecds it uses the different de for that
<16> same repositories and everything
<15> ok
<15> if I want my ubuntu os to look similar to http://shots.osdir.com/slideshows/original.php?release=706&slide=4 ... what should I choose between kde/gnome? (Im a newbie... thats why I ask these stupid questions) :)
<15> nevermind.. seem to be freespire... yet another os :)
<16> that's kde
<15> is it any good?
<13> effer: yes
<13> well, no
<13> not gnome
<13> xorg can, which is the actual WORKINGS
<17> I'm trying to make iptables log all connection to a port on localhost that is not in use. anyone know how to do that?

<17> http://s68.photobucket.com/albums/i29/DeanDouglas/Screenshots/?action=view&current=Screenshot.png&refPage=&imgAnch=imgAnch4
<17> ups sorry.
<14> ;)
<14> I'm trying to think of what I can do to make it even prettier.
<14> But I'm loving the way it looks now
<14> and feels.
<18> hello, um my mouse is funny when i'm in quake any idea's?
<19> Hello...I'm trying to setup a subversion repo to import multiple projects in...i have access to oreilly's book but i can't seem to derive whether this is what you should do...that being create a repo (svnadmin create /repos) and then importing multiple projects into it? is this how it should be?
<20> hello all does anyone know if 64bit drivers exist for a WG311v3 NIC?
<21> can you echo to /etc/rc.local without root?
<19> try it
<21> ive modified mine
<19> make a backup? just seems like one of those things easier to test
<22> without root, hopefully not
<22> \
<21> i didnt backup
<22> rc.local is usually empty on install
<19> can you just not do an ls -l /etc/rc.local and see the permissions....then you'll know
<11> What's the problem here?
<13> gah

<13> autoconf needs perl
<13> perl needs autoconf
<13> I hate this crap
<11> So install them at the same time?
<11> :P
<13> :S
<13> perl is broken...
<19> on centos, it is owned by root but with 777 permissions so if you did the echo thing as a normal user it will work
<13> and so is autoconf
<13> :S
<22> damn why would you want everyone to have permission to start crap on boot
<13> probably not a multi-user system
<22> centos is rh ent. i ***ume most ar production servers
<11> The AMD64 can run 32 bit programs... What about the Xeon 64 bit processors?
<22> Mjolnir, I do not believe so
<22> but then again fiik
<23> anyone going to help me out in here?
<23> im using mandriva linux
<19> probally not if you don't state your problem
<23> im having problems installing limewire for linux
<23> i load the rpm file, but get errors.
<19> try this, should work for mandriva: http://stanton-finley.net/fedora_core_5_installation_notes.html#LimeWire
<19> or use allofmp3.com and not have to deal with the crap that is limewire
<24> or buy the ****ing cds.
<19> meh
<23> shut up douche bag
<24> excuse me?
<24> Perhaps I havent made myself clear.
<23> dont feed me "buy the ****ing cd's" bull****, more than likally youve put **** on a computer that you didnt exactly pay for
<25> hey guys... how can I use a 2.6.12 .config file with my newer kernel?
<25> is there a routine that will just change the values listed in that file and leave the rest alone?
<19> sqarlock: what kind of crazy **** are you doing? :)
<24> ajask0: make oldconfig
<24> errr
<24> qwarlock: copy the .config to the new src dir, and run make oldconfig
<25> oh yea thats right!
<25> coolio
<25> I thought there was
<25> Gev: Oh I just cant get my damn laptop to finish booting...it stops at "append a correct root 807 error
<25> I have all my other systems working
<25> but knoppix has no trouble with my laptop so I wanted to steal theirs
<25> ok thanks graz...I will try that
<24> oldconfig will only prompt you for features that aren't in the old .config
<25> graz: thanks...I will see if I can figure out the answers to those
<25> heh heh
<24> y|n|m|?
<26> hitting enter takes the default on them
<13> _sysctl({{CTL_KERN, KERN_VERSION}, 2, 0xbfa61bc0, 35, (nil), 0}) = 0
<13> followed by a segfault
<13> ****ing nice
<24> I keep teling you windows.exe wont work in linooks
<13> :P
<13> ****ing gcj
<25> this one is strange.... dnsdomainname: Host name lookup failure
<25> that happened when I tried to compile the kernel....why is the kernel looking up my domain?
<25> anyone seen that one before?
<13> qwarlock: yes
<13> you need your hostname in /etc/hosts
<25> ok
<25> let me put that in
<25> I am trying to cmpile my kernel using knoppix...since my kernel is sort of screwed
<27> if i remove the .log from vsftpd config, do i have to restart inetd to the config to take changes?
<25> I am still not sure why the make bzImage command is looking up my host
<13> http://uuoc.com/1522
<13> qwarlock: it puts that into the kernel... says what system built it
<25> oh crap!
<25> so I should not do this then
<13> what?
<13> why?
<27> anyone know?
<13> it makes no difference...
<13> leooo: no
<13> inetd forks a new app every time a new connection starts... its very costly
