<4> hi all. i have a network of 5 linux boxes. One is a firewall/internet gateway. One is a load balancer and the last is a web server (there will be more web servers). The other two are standby machines for the firewall and load balancers. Because of the active/standby configuration, I have VIPs for all 3 interfaces on the firewall and both interfaces on the load balancers.

Default route on the firewall/gateway is my ISP's internet router. Default route on the load balancer is the vip of the firewall that is in the same subnet as the public interface of the load balancer. <8> Hmm. Totally getting an unresolved symbol from /usr/lib64/libc-client.so.0 on RHEL. The missing symbol is "mm_dlog" .. rpm isn't claiming any missing dependencies or problems with the package. weird
<8> not sure where it wants to find that mm_dlog symbol. ldd on that file is showing all of the libraries as being found, and all of those were installed by proper RPMs. (except /lib64/libcrypto.so.4 and libssl.so.4 - which are symbolic links created outside of rpm)
