<1> User error.
<2> hi guys whats the best news reader for ubuntu,
<3> slrn
<3> mutt with the nntp patch is pretty damn nice too
<4> mutt-ng has nntp support out of the box
<5> mutt smut
<6> jse: if you want binary news readers, look into pan or tin
<6> theyre kinda memory whores tho
<4> pan is great if you have a terabyte of ram
<5> <3 the tin
<7> I'll stick to mozilla mail heh

<6> bougyman: hear what qwell did? he put something like 2-3gb of ram in a box JUST to run pan, since his ISP doesn't clear out A.B.DVD for more then a month
<5> Idle`: thats why i like newsguy
<4> Idle`: my provider is the same
<6> lucky.. sorta... :P
<4> my provider _is_ newsguy.
<6> Trey: newshuy?
<5> Idle`: its a web interface. they provide searching, automatic file decoding and multipart collection
<6> ah, hot
<6> pan did that :P
<5> they also provide nntp access with the service
<6> I dont wanna pay.. thats kinda why I, uhm, use newsgroups
<2> yeah sorry for being away
<2> yeah i just got ban
<2> pan*
<5> Idle`: its $10/m
<6> thats 10$ more then I'll pay :D
<6> my ISP does decent enough retention
<5> Idle`: there's always empornium.us
<6> I have an ISP too ya know
<2> newsdemon is great btw they just increased their retention to 65 days thats almost as good as giganews
<2> cheaper too
<2> ok another quick q, when i was on windows i always like to view my directorys as "details" ubuntu is defaulted to thumnails, is there any way to change this
<2> i cant see an option on the view tab
<2> bah view as lisy
<5> ls -l
<8> everyone has to start from somewhere
<8> atleast you started
<1> < jse> how do i import nzb's in pan
<1> heh
<2> yeah its very confusing so far but i'll get there
<9> hiya, so... There's a perl module.. it's complaining about an undefined symbol. Well, the symbol is defined in header files from the openssl-devel package. Both openssl and openssl-devel packages are installed. Running ldd on the perl module itself shows that it is not linked to any openssl libraries (although it's definitely supposed to be using them). Any suggestions? :)
<9> the exact error: perl: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.7/x86_64-linux/auto/Net/SSLeay/SSLeay.so: undefined symbol: SSL_load_error_strings
<1> maybe its a perl ssl module it needs
<9> Hmm
<9> as far as I know NET::SSleay is the primary perl ssl module. ;/
<9> and depends directly on openssl. which is installed, albiet 64bit. :)
<10> how come when i wipe my *** after taking a ****, it leaves kisses lips stain on my paper?
<10> would someone please explain this to me?
<1> eep
<1> bout time :)
<7> sorry
<1> for?
<7> being late heh
<5> cmang: rebuild the perl module
<6> haha, this creationist is awesome at using circumstantial evidence
<9> Trey: Thanks. I think I'll have to do that. The only reason I've been hesitent is that it is a live server and I don't to cause something to break while I'm reinstalling it.
<1> thats gotta be the first properly spelled sentence I've ever seen you type
<9> But I suppose I can build it from source without using CPAN, then quickly uninstall it and install what I just build..
<9> *built
<5> graz: who?
<5> graz: cmagn?
<9> I am immune to sentences. I communicate in glitchy little splashes of semi-words. Don chagno
<5> at least
<5> you don't
<5> spam lines
<7> the enter key
<7> is not

<6> I always say proper sentances
<11> sentences
<11> you're
<6> ....
<1> but you dont often SPELL them correctly :)
<11> don't
<6> I dont care about spelling
<4> i prefer you use the F-word at least every third word.
<11> :p
<1> Idle`: hence the surprise at one :)
<11> bougyman: Chris-- has that one down pat
<11> :P
<11> bougyman: Thanks btw..

<7> or kmix or gmix heh
<4> aumix _is_ console
<4> it has an x interface, but i'll show you the ncurses one if you don't have an X DISPLAY set.
<13> nope
<13> its gui
<13> ohh
<13> k
<4> ^^ read
<5> kde has detected your volume has changed, please wait while i use 2 gigs of ram to make the change take effect.
<1> my aumix is both
<4> unset DISPLAY aumix

<7> yep
<4> graz: i'm just showin him how to get to the console.
<1> oh ooops
<5> IdiotStic: but it does draw a drop shadowed, transparent, melting, disolved, clouded volume bar
