<fluor_> bloofar is there a way to create filename from date, and use a zip instead?
<bloofar> tar zcvf `date +%F`.tar.gz `find . -ctime +10`
<bloofar> that will create a gzip'd tar file called (current date in YYYY-MM-DD) containing all files created >= 10 days ago
<bloofar> i don't use zip but you should be able to do that. note that gzip doesn't have file structure (will only create a bunch of .gz files)
<Idle247> ok, wtf
<Idle247> pam_chroot stinks
<Idle247> zero logging

<awol> nwf: are you a moron?
<nwf> ?
<awol> nwf: ya start asking a question by providing details of what distro ya running and what commands yer typing to produce specific erros ya getting.....
<awol> only morons say stuff like "it broke! can anyone fix?"
<nwf> lol
<nwf> i dont get errors
<vutoff> indeed
<vutoff> route -n; iptables -L -n; ifconfig; traceroute
<awol> he's a moron alright....
<vutoff> common things to make sure everything is just fine
<awol> how many more we got?
<awol> how2 activate moron detectors
<howto> Moron levels of 42 percent detected.
<awol> sounds about right....
<bloofar> sounds right for a static value?
<ron_frown> well is it me or does CIFS client in 2.6 just complete and utter ****
<warjest> what happens when you ping 4.2.2.2? 100% packet loss?
<ron_frown> throws random errors that arent defined anyplace
<ron_frown> I've not found anyone that could auto mount on boot a cifs share in fedora
<warjest> meh.. missed the quit
<awol> pay attention peeples!
<awol> there's going to be a snap quiz sometime soon...
<bloofar> dammit.. my roommates cat chewed on my ipod cable
<bloofar> enough to make it flake out when trying to talk to the computer
<awol> your roomates cat talks to the computer?
<nwf> ok i can conect to a localcomputer and do irc tunneling .. so is easy feedback

<warjest> irc tunneling?
<nwf> yes
<nwf> i have done iptables -L -n
<vutoff> OMFG!!!
<nwf> and i got
<nwf> Chain INPUT (policy ACCEPT) target prot opt source destination
<warjest> watch him paste it all here
<awol> dont paste crap in here
<awol> !wtf paste?
<LinuxHOW2> Say the word `.hitme` into the channel to receive instructions on how to paste your errors for the whole channel to see.
<nwf> ok
<nwf> sorry

<ron_frown> jhesus christ cifs is ****.
<ron_frown> this **** is seriosuly going to give me a stroek
<ron_frown> works perfect from command line
<ron_frown> even running netfs script
<ron_frown> but gives me a error -113 on boot
<ron_frown> explanation of error I cannot find anywhere
<vutoff> ron_frown, are you tryin to mount it from fstab ?
<awol> ron_frown: maybe it's being attempted before all the networking is setup properly... try delaying it or moving further along in the boot process
<ron_frown> ok
<awol> and p[rovide details if ya want answers..... we're not here just to hear your complaints
<Qwell[]> for complaints, we charge
<Qwell[]> That'll be $29.95
<vutoff> awol, thats why i ask him for fstab
<awol> vutoff: ya shouldn't have to ask
<awol> morons should provide details if they seriously want help....
<awol> WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?
<vutoff> heh :>
<howto> Sometimes.
<vutoff> just tryin to help
<warjest> well at least my internets work
<awol> yeah i know
<awol> yer ok
<warjest> i'm still hung up on how he is "irc tunneling"
<awol> not your fault everyone is stupid...
<awol> !wtf dumb?
<LinuxHOW2> I see dumb people... they're everywhere. They walk around like everyone else. They don't even know they're dumb.
<vutoff> aeahaehae :>>
<nwf> i figure out that now i need to setup a proxy ..
<nwf> how can i do that ?
<nwf> plz
<vutoff> nwf, you need to setup a brain
<nwf> also
<nwf> but i dont have time to do that now lol
<bloofar> warjest: they're my intarnets!
<awol> nwf: you dont need a proxy
<bloofar> give them back!
<awol> nwf: you need to provide us with details so we can help you
<nwf> like for example ?
<awol> nwf: you need to answer questions we ask.... and type commands we tell you
<awol> like what firggin' distribution of linux you have installed?
<nwf> i setup http proxy on firefox and now it rulez
<awol> that'd be a start
<nwf> but any other apps not
<nwf> like amsn
<nwf> ubuntu 6.10
<awol> so... you're behind a firewall? and there's a proxy somewhere?
<nwf> proxy
<awol> nwf: you also need to describe your network too
<awol> what proxy setting did you use for firefox?
<nwf> 10.2.0.253 port 8080
<awol> and where did ya get that info?
<nwf> for all
<nwf> a friend
<nwf> windows dont need that
<awol> is that your ISP's proxy server?
<nwf> strange
<nwf> university proxy
<awol> so... you're at uni in portugal somewhere?
<nwf> we said that was instaled a new tranparent proxy
<nwf> i dont know what is but ..
<nwf> yes i am
<nwf> not hard to guess
<jak20000> any tool for see the traffic?
<ron_frown> I've setup cifs via fstab (like anyone who knows linux would expect to)
<ron_frown> then run netfs start/stop for testing
<vutoff> iptraf
<ron_frown> works *PERFECT*
<ron_frown> turned it on, rebooted server
<ron_frown> I get mount_cifs failure error code -113
<ron_frown> which means absolutely **** to me
<ron_frown> searching doesnt return ****
<nwf> awol: why i need to setup http proxy on linux and i dont need to do that on windows
<nwf> ?
<ron_frown> throw it in rc.local for a sort of half*** solution
<ron_frown> same error code
<awol> nwf: windows dont care it's stupid....
<awol> nwf: and maybe there's clues in the stuff you refuse to tell us
<vutoff> ron_frown, make sure your rc.local has been executed AFTER networking script
<ron_frown> in fedora what scripts are run after network interfaces are brought up
<awol> and i'm sick of trying to extract info i need to help people who refuse to provide the info voluntarily
<awol> rc.local is run last just before logins are enabled
<ron_frown> apparently -113 is no route to host
<vutoff> awol, I know.. but...
<ron_frown> if network is brought up
<ron_frown> I dont get quite how that line in the last line of rc.local would fail
