<8> hey how can i just recompile my kernel? it was compiled using an older version of gcc and this program im trying to install complains about that. i want to recompile it using the current gcc i have installed

<8> it says my kernel was compiled using gcc 3.4.5 but my current version is 4.0.2 and it wont compile the required modules. it tells me to either recompile my kernel using gcc 4.0.2 or point to gcc 3.4.5
<8> i tried to install gcc 3.4.5 but it didnt seem to work. all i did was 'make bootstrap' not sure if theres more to do than that
