<2> The system uses a 1-terabyte database powered by a cluster of six four-processor PowerEdge 6650 servers running Linux. That system is augmented by four PowerEdge 6650 file servers running Linux and 10 dual-processor PowerEdge 2650 systems running application server software.

<3> Lol l@@k its square1.
<5> ok i know nothing about Linux/Unix but i need to do something with the "cal" command.. it's a form on a site that uses the linux cal command to show the calander for the input year. I want to manipulate that to show me the directory (its not illegal, its a challange on a website)
<3> Yes.
<6> the idea of those challenges is for you to work it out
<6> not to ask someone else for the answer
<1> Teh_Rash: it can accept either a year or a year and month... or just a month
<5> not asking for the answer.. just a tip
<1> Teh_Rash: what do you mean "show me a directory"
<5> what pages are in the same folder..
<1> er..
<1> what files are the same in directories .. ?
<1> and you will use cal .. hwo?
<5> that's what im trying to figure out
<1> Teh_Rash: but.. well .. you havent given enough info to do anything
<1> i can run cal.. and get its output..
<5> "This time Network Security sam has saved the unencrypted level7 p***word in an obscurely named file saved in this very directory. In other unrelated news, Sam has set up a script that returns the output from the UNIX cal command."
<5> and below that there is a form where you can input the year
<2> nn
<1> nite
<1> Teh_Rash: well the cal format is like M T W T F S S then the correctly formated days under those columns
<1> irc@tone ~ $ cal
<1> April 2006
<1> Su Mo Tu We Th Fr Sa
<1> 1
<1> 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
<1> 9 10 11 12 13 14 15
<1> 16 17 18 19 20 21 22
<1> 23 24 25 26 27 28 29
<1> 30
<5> that is what the site returns when you input a year, but that tells me nothing..
<5> im guessing i have to learn cal then.. right
<1> it tells you the current layout of this month..
<3> is this going to be on the test?
<1> Teh_Rash: cal is pretty simple: cal 2006 cal 03 2001 .. etc
<5> but there is no way to manipulate that?
<3> what do you think?
<1> there is a million and one ways to manipulate it Teh_Rash
<1> just as with any textual output
<6> heh
<6> my sony mp3 player has a folder named "omgaudio"
<5> any way to manipulate that to show something else then the current month / year / day /week
<6> sony has gone l33t
<6> prolly, but thats your job to work it out
<1> Teh_Rash: cal [-smjy13] [[month] year] thats the options
<5> ill google on then.. thx for the help
<1> -s sunday first -m monday first -j julian dates -y calendar for the year
<1> -1 just this month (default) -3 prev, cur and next month
<1> thats it
<1> Teh_Rash: -j might be a clue

<1> it returns the count from the start of the year...
<1> like
<1> April 2006
<1> Sun Mon Tue Wed Thu Fri Sat
<1> 91
<1> 92 93 94 95 96 97 98
<1> 99 100 101 102 103 104 105
<1> 106 107 108 109 110 111 112
<1> 113 114 115 116 117 118 119
<1> 120
<6> heh
<1> :o
<6> so its the 96th of 2006? :)
<1> weee
<1> square: its the 96th day
<6> yeh
<5> the problem is though, that whenever i input anything else then a integer the result is blank..
<1> as it should be
<1> cal only accepts integers
<6> and boobies
<1> hehe
<1> cal boobies
<6> everything and everyone accepts boobies
<6> right?!
<1> square: ah .. stdin :)
<6> exactly.
<1> cal < /dev/boobies
<1> :))
