<0> can't be <0> well i hope not <0> it showed up alittle bit ago but has dissapeared again <0> snoops how long to hd's usually last ? <1> either that or the controller it's running on is dying <0> do* <1> usually they're pretty good.. after around 3 years though.. <0> if i shut of the pc for an hour or so and turn it back on, it shows all my hd's with no problem <1> 4 years ago all I remember hdd's having were 1 year warranties <1> since then seagate has gone up to a 5 year warranty <0> Yeah it's a seagate drive <1> ide or sata? <0> ide <0> 120gb <1> it's either controller or hdd <1> I had a sata controller which did the same thing
<1> changed the drives to a different pc..no worries <1> still.. 3 years is about the time where you may want to buy another <1> or at least definitely backup <0> ok <2> you're all under arrest <3> **** <4> I decree that from now on <4> you must all refer to me as Lord Rukk the Ruthless <2> haha <2> hahahaha <4> your imputence is forgiven. dont let it happen again ;x <2> hahahaha <4> I suppose I could settle for Rukk the Terrible or something ;\ <4> or just Lord Rukk would be acceptable for the sake of brevity <5> damn <5> gotta go back to work <2> :o <2> it's pining for the fjords <6> does anyone have any experience with compaq ipaqs? <6> Im trying to get it to work and connect to my Netgear Router <1> wireless? <7> probably dosnt support wpa properly <6> well the thing is.. <6> When I turn it on.. <6> the device is recognised by my router <6> and I can add the MAC address to its access list <6> Yer wireless <6> I want it to be able to access the internet, ive had it for 8 months and have barely used it because its pointless without wireless capability <7> so set it up <8> you can get it to work with out encryption? <7> <7> probably dosnt support wpa properly <6> Yeah I add the MAC Address to my router so its fully working, but on the Ipaq Im not sure, do I need to do something? Because it says its CONNECTED to the Netgear in Wireless Cards.. <6> Yeah I dont believe it needs encryption <6> because I have several other systems that use the Router <8> well that doesnt mean it doesnt need encryption <6> no? <8> what wifi nic do you have? <8> ChrisAcky i can connect to 6 people around me that dont have encryption on their routers <6> Yeah I know its bad not to <8> i havnt tried to axx there computers but i can get online and download <6> Hmm on the Ipaq it has several NIC I believe... <6> It lists like 5.. <8> are any of them wireless? this is laptop with built in wifi? <8> im lil puzzled i dont deal with compaqs at alllllll <6> NE2000 Compaitable Ethernet Driver.. // iPAQ USB Wirelesss Adapater // <6> and more.. <6> Yeah I dont either.. <8> iPAQ USB Wirelesss Adapater is what you need <8> you try changing settings and adding the keys? <8> Connection: Realtek RTL8180 Wireless LAN (Mini-)PCI NIC - Packet Scheduler Miniport @ 11.0 Mbps (Rec: 4032.96MB Sent: 1513.82MB) <6> First I wanted to try and get it working without having encryption <8> should be pretty simple then <6> dammit i cant find the screen now, <6> Where I can view the connections, everywhere I go tries to make me enter dialing numbers <8> start/settings/networkdconnections <8> your wifi driver should be where you add settings <8> unless you let winblows do it <6> i dont understand this, It says CONNECTED in wireless connection settingson my ipaq, the MAC address has been added to the allowed connections on my router
<6> but its saying onthe ipaq now after its still saying connected that it cant connect using the current network settings <7> !google how to make an ipaq connect to a wireless network <9> http://kb.iu.edu/data/aqxc.html <9> http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=425744&docname=c00059386 <6> The ipaq i have already has wireless capaibilities <6> it doesn neeed a new card, <7> but obviously you dont know how to use it <6> proven because it can see and connect to the router, Yeah I know, <6> Ill keep googling, im sure there might be a forum or something <10> (fake right? ) he seems to be blessed with serendipity in "advertently" finding these gems. check this out homies: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=9524119345 <10> question. how did viewsonic monitors gain such a marketshare? i've seen about 3 in my life, and they were all disappointing. <10> is it a fact that no two monitors are alike? ? ? ?even from the same company, the same series, same manufacturing line ,etc .. . ??? <10> before purchasing my p220f, i read some reviews, and they were generally positive, the one i got was garbage. <11> heh I've got two exact same LCDs that have different settings to make the images the same <11> i would imagine its worse with CRTs <12> I want to use the picture here as my first IC's chip-art: http://uncyclopedia.org/wiki/Goa_Tse The Goa Tse Symbol. <8> crts own lcd <13> can someone recommend an 802.11g pci card that works w/windows xp64? <14> type that into google <14> BINGO <14> problem solved <13> WRONG <13> try it smart*** <15> ... <13> ive found one mention <14> how about you try it <13> to a broadcam <14> becuase I really, really do not care <13> broadcom rather <13> spark; i ahve <16> 802.11 pci doesn't yield something useful hotnikks_? <13> im talking 64 bit <14> <-- couldn't be less interested <15> sparkeatr is dumb <13> spark; then dont make stupid comments about googling <13> which ive already done <14> what the **** <17> hrm the dvi connector that you can use a splitter on and have two independant monitors.. is that DVI-D or DVI-I? <14> plenty normal software runs under xp64 <14> of <15> shutup spark <13> normal software != drivers <14> no <13> get a clue <14> I'll kill you <14> that's it <15> ban him <16> how about 802.11 pci xp64 ? <14> you're added to my list <15> your list? <15> lol <16> first link has what you want... <15> please dont kill me <16> his ignore list... <16> hotnikks_, you just don't know how to use google =/ <13> ebay.co.uk? lol <16> http://www.comtekcomputers.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=2126 <14> edible <14> I'm building something at the moment <14> and need some input <16> http://www.planetamd64.com/lofiversion/index.php/t12216.html <16> easy to find <17> no ideas on dvi-d or dvi-i? <14> what I'm doing, is I've got an aluminium flight case. it's like a docking station for my laptop. I want a couple of 250GB drives in there, a couple of optical drives, a TV tuner, my 4 x playstation USB controller adapter, and a couple of other USB devices <14> hardwired into the flight case with some cooling fans etc, with storage for the laptop inside the case <14> when using the laptop, it plugs into the usb, fans in the top of the case provide extra cooling and all the devices add up to a kind of really awesome computer <14> what I was gonna do is just have a usb hub inside with all the drives/devices plugged into it <16> usb drives won't make an awesome computer =) <14> yeah <14> well <14> I'm looking for a better system than just using all USB controllers then plugging them into a hub, then plugging that into the laptop via USB <14> also, all the powersupplies and **** for the laptop and hardware are hardwired into the case/docking station, and a single power cord plugs into that <14> BUT <14> I need a better way than just using a USB hub to connect all the devices in the aluminum flightcase
