<1> because you can load your own linux setup on it <1> so it can basicly be made into a PDA with a web browser, its got onboard wifi b/g <0> you got me lost righ there <0> andI must leave now <0> sorry <0> looks fun though :) <1> you can add an MMC/SD socket so you have flash storage <1> upto 8gigs <1> and its basicly a palm top for 1/5 of the cost of a real palm top <2> http://img53.imageshack.us/img53/4849/desktoptete2qy.jpg <2> nice eh ? <3> what's that program you're using for the newsgroups/ <2> newsleecher <0> _unreal_, you got your problem sorted out? <4> anyone know of a good way to test my upload speed? I just upgraded my broadband to premium and it seems slower =( <4> I tried uploading to 2 ftp sites I have but bother were uploading at 10KBs which doesn't seem correct <4> because thats slower then I had if thats the case <5> speedtest.adelphia.net <4> isn't that just for downloads though? <5> it tests both up/down <4> sweet <4> thanks <5> np <5> Downstream: 882.38 KBytes/s Upstream: 110.95 KBytes/s <4> Downstream 5326.096 Kbps upstream 365.616 Kbps <4> Infinity Kbps - You Infinity kbps <4> lol think something is wrong with that site <5> try: www.speakeasy.net/speedtest <6> hey guys, last resort, cant find information regarding this anywhere. I'm trying to setup a RAID1 using the GigaRAID BIOS that came with my gigabyte board. I get an error that goes along the lines of : Please install Pri1/d0 , Sec1/d0 or Pri2/d1 , Sec1/d1 to create a mirror array <6> no luck with manual, forums, anything <6> if any1 can help much appreciated :/ <5> http://www.acnc.com/raid.html <-- start there for in depth info and what not. <6> thanks <7> sounds like its an IDE raid ? <6> well that site doesnt help much, it just explains the various RAID arrays which i already know backwards <6> Number17 hmm well it doesnt use an IDE controller, the HDD's are Seagate 200GB SATA2 drives <7> are you sure the HD's are plugged into the proper connectors ? <6> the board has 4 SATA2 slots which i've plugged the drives in Controller 1 and 3 - 2 and 4 <6> that's what i was thinking <6> i tried with both drives being Master <6> and both drives being slave <6> and then one master one slave <6> no luck :/ <7> whats the board model ? <7> i will download the manual. <6> GA-8l945P-G-RH <6> it's got that ROHS thing :P <6> lol Enviromentally friendly motherboard <6> the Users Manual of the motherboard doesnt contain anything on RAID but you might be able to spot something that i cant <6> http://www.giga-byte.com/Products/Motherboard/Products_Overview.aspx?ProductID=1960&ModelName=GA-8I945P-G-RH <7> basturds dont have it available <6> oh dear <6> yea just saw it :/ <6> Coming soon! <7> funny when you go to the FAQ it tells you.. Please kindly refer to the user's manual on GIGABYTE website. <6> haha yeah <6> no1 ever has good documentation <7> ahh sorry then i can't help you. <6> hmm u know maybe this might be something <6> in the GigaRAID manual <6> it says: under RAID1
<7> hmmmm maybe ;) <6> Warning: Two had drives that form a RAID 1 array have to be attached as the same master or slave hard disks <6> hmm <6> my interpretation of that is: They both have to be masters or both slaves <7> have you tried to enter the raid bios yet >? <6> yep <6> once i enter it i go to auto configure and i select RAID 1 then when i try save it gives me an error: Please install Pri/d0 and Sec/D0 drives or Pri/d1 and Sec/D1 to configure a mirror mode array <6> cant get past that <6> i dont even know what that bloody means <8> i need a KVM switch that support 2 monitors, and 2 keyboard onto 1 pc <8> he has his DOS based computer in the office, and wants the people 25 feet away in the warehouse to share the pc access with him <6> Number17 thanks for the help hey <6> but check this: This is all i can find that refers to my error ;) <6> http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=ja&u=http://kakaku.aol.co.jp/aol/bbs.asp%3FPrdKey%3D05405011868%26ParentID%3D4883293%26Page%3D&prev=/search%3Fq%3DPlease%2Binstall%2BPri/d0%26hl%3Den%26hs%3DzlL%26lr%3D%26safe%3Doff%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-US:official <6> hehehehe <8> so only a monitor and keyboard in the shop <6> A badly translated japanese page! <6> hmm twunty <6> what's the problem? <6> 25m isnt that far <6> might be a problem but have u tried it? <8> what equipment to buy <8> that would support 2 monitors and 2 keyboards, to control the same 1 pc <5> http://www.kvm-switches-online.com <8> no mouse in the picture <6> well basically he wants physical switching <5> :] <6> heh yeah listen to Jefreymon's posts <6> he knows how to google <6> Jefreymon google my problem :/ <5> haha <5> I do <8> http://www.kvm-switches-online.com/0dt23001.html <8> this is the technology he was using, but it died and the box is now shorted out <6> wb <6> goddamit <6> i am going to kill gigabyte <6> i swear someone needs to start a company which offers to translate all their documentation to english <6> and properly <6> what is the point in punting a board with RAID capability and SATA2 connections when it doesnt support them both <5> You run a higher risk of loosing data with RAID :/ <6> oi <6> Number17! <6> you alive? <6> Why is that Jefreymon? <8> this is such a simple concept, 2 lcd, 2 keyboards on the same screen <8> the kvm "extenders" i am looking at are overkill <8> it is less than 20' run <6> so buy a simple one <6> then buy an extension <5> tehsheep: especally if you choose a raid that splits up your data between two drives :/ <8> i figured i could use montitor and keyboard extenders <6> a RAID 1 hardware is nice <6> you get redundancy <6> in the event of a freak and one drive fails <6> you got another <6> mirroring is always good <5> use 1+0 <9> What do you guys think of Gigabyte motherboards? <6> I HATE THEM <6> lol <6> i'm here trying to troubleshoot a problem with one of them <6> suppor ****s <6> support <6> esp with the documentation that comes with <6> they are good but you better hope that they dont let you down cause then you in ****screek <9> great hehe <9> just bought a 939 board from em cuz I didnt want to go PCI-x yet <6> everything is gonna be pci-x <6> i just ***embled a nice pc for a client <6> the 8N-SLI-QUAD <6> nice board
