<1> if the athlon has no pcie16, your stuck with an agp card (current best right now is probably the 7800GS, which is still about the same as a 6800 ultra) but you may could buy a new motherboard/psu eventually to update it all. The socket 939 will probably become outdated eventually after the release of the m2 940 socket so parts could possibly get high or they could be low.. the Intel, you most definately could update that machine to any..
