<0> thats why i dont use them, hehe <1> anyone know how Kingston HyperX memory is? <2> it's Xtra Hyper <2> or maybe I should say it's ScaryFast <1> or if someone cares to reccomend some DDR to OC an a64 X2 3800+ a bit. my Crucial PC3200 fails prime95 after a couple hours so I'm thinking about replacing it with some decent stuff. <1> fails at default speed I should say <3> up the voltage on the ram a tad :) <2> I just upped my voltage, so UP YOURS! <1> I had considered that. just bugs me that I'd have to do that without even OCing at all <3> lots of motherboards under voltage the ram though ScaryFast <1> orly. <1> Asus A8N-SLI is what I have <3> what's the voltage at on it? <2> haha asking questions that require him to reboot, that's not nice :) <3> but he shouldn't need to reboot for that <1> which voltage would you like to know?
<3> many diagnostic tools tell you <3> ram voltage of course <2> My router just randomly died today....like....2h ago, so I ordered one of these for $10 on sale <2> http://www.trendnet.com/products/TEW-432BRP.htm <1> I don't know if Everest shows that <1> or speefan <1> speedfan even <4> course, in the A8N-SLI it doesn't show the voltage the memory is using <4> it's set to auto, and I'm trying to find out what the voltage should be on these sticks <1> I googled the ram and it should be 2.6v so I bumped it to 2.65v <1> will see how that does <0> what goin on in here tonight, all the other chans are dead, or deadlocked with ghey jokes <5> your a faggot. <0> lo,, why i sthat <0> damn i cant type <0> so why? <0> anyhow, anyone around ever used a Asus nForce4 sli P5ND2? <4> running memtest86 on my desktop to see if that Ram is alright now with a slight voltage bump <4> will run it while I sleep <0> wow thats crazy, i posted on asus forums, 18 minutes ago, guy posted 7 min later has 1830 views and 13 replies, i have 1 view :( <0> hehe <5> well then <5> you know your boring ;x <6> or too smart for anyone else to understand <0> lol, def not too smart <0> heh <0> try this one... <0> delayed write error.... asus nforce4 P5ND2 SLI, P650, 1GB DDR2 dual chan, 650wattPSU verified multiple devices, and they also work on other PC's. ninstalled/reinstalled ALL drivers, updateed drivers, uninstall/reinstall XP home, then install XP pro with and w/o SP2(currently with) cant find anything i havent tried already <0> damn, i cant spell, maybe thats why i have no replies <7> does it make much of a difference if hard drive has 8mb of buffer or 16mb? <0> its not external drives, havent tried those yet... its thumb drives, thats all i have thats usb 2.0 <0> and it was a friggin $$ one, 4GB <5> ahh <5> so, basicaly, your usb is fukt? <0> ya, legacy works fine <0> so my kb an mouse are good <5> yeah. <5> reasonably well known problem with newer asus boards. <5> had a p5p800 in the shop the other week with the same thing. <5> and I've read lots of people bitching about screwy a8n usb. <0> ya, i see LOTS of posted about it, but its always with ext. hdd, and problems lie in cache settings, or driver updates and stuff <0> ya i saw that one alot <5> imho, send that piece of **** back and get something reliable :| <5> there is absolutely no excuse for **** like USB not to work correctly out of the box. <0> not a chance, wish i could, unfortunately, i didnt build it, i ordered it.. and i refuse to send the whole damn thing back, too much data proggy installed and time put into it...plus it'll take almost 2 months to get it back <5> oh :| <5> nice :| <0> i agree, that is kinda bs for friggin usb not to work <0> lol, yeah <5> yet another reason I dont touch asus's crap. <5> uhm, well, set usb to 1.1 in the bios and add a usb 2.0 card. <0> had all the parts lined up, but found it cheaper to order only cause i caught a bunch of sales rebates, and i got lazy <0> thats what i was gonna do... <0> but i wanna buy a pcie x 1 card if i do an they are $$ <5> not sure exactly what your other options are though <5> heh <5> I mean, usb is kinda critical <0> ya i know <0> well... i only use 2.0 for the thumb drive, but i need to use it alot <0> so..
<8> 4 gigs at 1MB/s <8> lovely <0> i dunno what the speed is, but its fast on other pcs, very fast <8> probably around 20MB/s if connected to USB2.0 (the speed of the flashrom chips itself is the limit) <8> usb1.1 is aviyt 1MB/s <8> about :P sorry for the finger offset on the keyboard <0> i read something about checking to make sure if additional power sources are plugged in for the usb if required, thats one thing i havent checked, but i cant see where this mobo would have one to check <8> Umm, USB devices have their own power connectors if they require additional power. Same goes for USB hubs. <0> makes more sense then additional power suplies on the board itself <8> USB under windows XP is strange. I sometimes don't get USB2.0 speeds for my memory devices. Dunno what the hell is up exactly. <8> eh? no it doesn't:) A USB hub has to be able to supply 500mA at 5V and that's it. <0> well, i'm thinking about putting server 03 on here in a few days anyway <8> ah, i could try reading stuff properly... i'm still drowsy :/ <0> hehe <8> the USB connectors on the mobo are basically a hub or two hubs <8> so yeah <0> two hubs on mine <8> so devices just have to come up with their own power if they want more. yeah. <0> ya <8> i have a USB HDD and sometimes when i plug it in i lose my card reader in the process... go go windows ;) <0> i get that cause i have seen devices with an additional power wire to be plugged in <0> lol <0> oh, i have another pesky ? is there a way to NOT have my sata hdd's show up in the "sfely remove hardware" icon? <0> its just annoying <0> not that i can eject them while in use <9> hey rukk, you around? <9> has anyone in here had an asus p4p800 se motherboard and flashed their video card, and all of a sudden got quite a lag with the bios screen writes when booting? I have a p4p800 se with the newest bios, ati radeon 9550 flashed up to 9600 pro and now the bios writes are really slow. once it finishes booting up to windows, dos, osx86 etc everything runs fine. i think it may be a problem with the motherboard, since I looked it up on google and coincidentall <9> has anyone had an asus p4p800 se motherboard and had really laggy bios writes? I have that mobo with a radeon 9550 flashed to 9600 pro, and after the flashing the bios draws out all the text during POST really slowly. once it's booted up dos, windows, linux, osx86 run fast - it's just the bios POST and settings menus that draw out slowly. The card's timings are the same as the 9550's defaults, and I need it flashed as a 9600 to use osx86. i'm using the <8> "bios writes"? you mean, saving bios setup on exit? <9> jkuarane: no like bios screen writes .. the text is printed out really slowly. just with bios info/menus though, once the OS starts up it runs fine <8> oh, never encountered such an issue <8> perhaps the bios has to resort to some sort of safe writing commands? <8> you could try another mobo bios version but i doubt it'd fix it <9> yeah I've tried a couple bios versions <8> sounds like the bios of the video card isn't an "exact match" <9> jkaurane: it only lags in POST and the BIOS setup menus though. the OS runs great.. ?? <9> jkaurane: I'll try the card in another computer tomorrow I guess and see if it lags on a different motherboard <8> you don't run the OS in a text mode <8> if you booted up to dos, it might be as bad all the way <8> perhaps bios 80x25 mode writes are just ****ed up. i doubt it can be helped, unless you're going to hack the bios file by hand. <10> hey <10> is the internet even secure? <10> is it safe to buy over the internet? <8> eh? what sort of a question is that? no, the internet as such is *not* secure but online shopping implementations can be very secure. <8> notice the small padlock icon on the browser when you enter an SSL protected site <9> jkaurane: dos runs fine .. <8> queer <8> no idea how to help it <11> FearMoth; u know cmd isnt dos right? <12> rukk ****s <13> prolly <9> redeem: yes, i know that. I mean if I boot up a dos boot disk, or windows boot disk etc. linux textmode works fine too, as does any graphical mode <13> jkaurane: windows xp doesn run dos heh <8> no it doesn't... i wast talking about real text modes like dos or perhaps some variant of stripped down linux <13> windows rescue then <8> wast, god. <13> orly <10> whats the IP for western union <10> I don't trust my dns serve <10> it could be hacked <13> lo <13> you need to reinstall then <13> if you cant trust your own box then you need to reinstall and stay offline till you know what you're doing <6> what if all? <14> ...is there a good freeware or open source HDD defragmenter for windowsxp?? <0> theres a coouple on hiren's boot disc <13> Solipsis: whats wrong with defrag.exe <14> it's very sloow... <15> Solipsis: make up your midn <15> mind* <15> either ask in #windowsxp, or here <15> NOT in both channels <14> what's wrong with asking in both channels? different sets of people with different answers <14> just trying to fine someone with an answer
