<5> I know this isn't a question regarding computer parts, but I'm curious about car starter motors. one of the things I'd heard about them was that despite being relatively high horsepower and RPM, they're not supposed to be used for extended operation. something about burning themselves out.

<5> I'd be seriously intending to make a scooter that would help me get around, I've got issues. I just see a lot of existing scooters as slow, without much shock absorbtion, and some of them that I've seen have problems with retaining a charge.

<5> because, seperate units that I've seen are usually more cost-effective, and you're pretty much stuck with the quality and application type that they shove into the machine for both if you go combo. whereas seperate units, you can get whatever quality and applications you're gunning for.

<5> that also depends on application. when I got a scanner, I got one that wasn't top of the line for resolution but was one of the extremely slim ones that use that newer lower-voltage technology that can operate just off the USB power rail.
