<0> Anyone who can tell me where I can find this driver: Broadcom LAN Driver v6.64.00
<1> hello
<1> !commands
<1> !symantec
<1> oh good no really risky viruses today
<1> :)
<1> Anyone around?
<2> nope
<3> yeah
<1> oh hey
<1> im thinking of getting a new vid card for my agp 4x slot (newegg reviewers say this card will work in my compy good too) http://www.pricegrabber.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=16229511/zip_code=28223/
<1> is this a good one?
<2> they still make 4x?
<1> my agp is 4x its somewhat old
<1> its an 8x card
<1> but it says itll work in mine too

<1> i have a geforce 3 ti500 atm its showing its age even with the older games i play
<1> sometimes
<1> stuff lags
<3> anyone here bought paint shop pro X?
<4> http://www.defense-mechanism.org/sastuff/hahaha.jpg
<5> paint shop pro.. what a waste of time :x
<6> mothers love it
<6> heh
<7> What's a snog?
<8> you.
<7> Oh yeah
<6> something Katrana likes to do
<9> Upon starting my computer, prior to the initialization of Windows XP, I get the message "No drive attached to the fasttrack controller - BIOS not installed'
<9> what's wrong, and what should I do?
<9> Some guy told me that my drive controller is not attached to a drive, but my harddrives, though, seem to work just fine, because Windows is working (although more slowly than usual) and I can find both drives
<6> got raid?
<9> when I get into Windows, 'Installing New Hardware' appears, and it tries to install Raid Controller..
<9> unfortunately, I don't have the ****ing CD..
<9> hehe
<6> check the OEM's site
<9> OEM, what's that?
<6> the person who made it
<6> company site
<9> oh, right..
<9> but I thought a Raid driver was something that was on a Win XP cd?
<9> and that it was a standard...thing..
<6> nah
<6> not normally
<6> has to be installed before windows is
<9> god damnit, whiteboy!
<6> for the install to go on a raid
<9> so this is why everything runs so slow then?
<6> could be
<9> so how do I install anything AT ALL, prior to a Windows installation?
<6> it says "to install 3rd party raid drivers click something"
<6> during install
<6> need them on a floppy
<9> it's all coming together
<9> but answer me this..
<9> why is it that I find the harddrives?
<9> why do I get into Windows?
<6> you dont have your disks on the raid controller
<6> i'd guess
<6> you really didnt give any info on your setup
<9> let me think..
<9> basically hooked both harddrives up to SATA 1 and 2, went into BIOS, set the one I wanted to be Main Drive as that, installed Windows XP..
<9> I didn't install any RAID controllers
<9> I didn't do anything out of the ordinary
<9> I'm an art major, by the way, I'm utterly useless, and I don't know ****..
<9> but I wanna learn this
<10> any of you guys know the quality and performance of the Buffalo WLE-DA2 directional wifi antenna?
<11> it's a parabolic dish?
<10> no
<10> 1 min
<10> http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16833162131
<9> had to restart..
<9> man, my SATA drives are found in BIOS as Third and Fourth IDE Master
<5> if only I had artistic abilities instead of hardware abilities ;x
<9> that's just wrong, is it not?
<9> that's...
<11> I'd trust the review of it on newegg

<5> why is that a problem?
<9> that's pretty damn wrong-sounding, to me..boarderline sinful
<11> sounds pretty correct
<5> nah Strang0r, nothing wrong there unless you have some weird controller that your trying to avoid, in which case switch your sata headers so its 1st and 2nd.
<9> when I get into Windows, it tries to install a RAID controller
<9> and my system is behaving strangely
<5> probably because theres a raid controller on your board and you dont have drivers installed for it.
<9> that sounds logical
<5> pretty normal behavior thus far, whats irregular?
<9> do I have to ***ign drives to the RAID controller?
<9> and what are the benefits?
<5> you probably dont want to run RAID, you should be able to use it normally if you dont configure it otherwise though.
<5> so all you should need to do is install drivers, or turn the raid controller off in your bios and make sure your drives arent going through it right now.
<9> I see, thank you very much
<5> no problem man
<9> that Fasttrack stuff is 'searching for IDE drives' upon starting my system, why does it do that?
<9> it never did before
<12> i use my raid IDE slots
<12> but im not useing raid
<5> fasttrack is a brand of Promise raid controller.
<12> just useing them to run the drives
<5> so thats the raid controller trying to find drives to use.
<9> well, can I ***ign Raid to my DVD drive then?
<9> just to make it shut up?
<5> nope.
<5> but you can go turn it off in the bios, like I said
<9> I'll go do that
<5> sometimes they hide it, so poke around. IO devices or somesuch.
<5> or you could do that thing that I never do.. that involves the manual :x
<9> haha
<9> I hear ya..
<5> hrm. back to trying to make this spaceship look cool ;x
<13> did you hear about the fortune teller strike?
<13> there was no happy medium
<8> oh
<14> b***goon - thjat
<14> that's like the old joke,
<14> a buddhist walks into a pizza parlor and says "make me one with everything"
<15> hello
<12> what you want
<12> some help
<12> guess not
<16> hey, i jsut got my new pc and in the bios it says my hdds are 200gb and 300gb, fine, but in windows, they are both 128gb? anyone know how i can fix this?
<17> you can use with disk Management
<17> or partition magic
<16> it shows up as 128gb in disk management
<16> when in the bios it shows as 200/300
<17> DISK0
<17> DISK1
<16> ?
<12> because
<12> you never get the full amount of the drive
<12> cause of the partion
<18> which socket intel chips are the most desirable these days, LGA 775?
<11> ugh.. he probably is using an old os which can only support up to 128
<12> ahhh
<12> didnt think of that
<11> just like xp when it was first released could only detecth up to 80GB
<11> per drive
<12> ya
<11> and "you never get the full amount of the drive cause of the partion" is factually wrong
<12> yea
<19> hi, can anyone tell me if "Beyond Micro" is a decent brand for externa hard drives?
<12> no
<11> why are you getting an external drive?
<19> prolly too new to know yet
<19> for the girlfriend's laptop
<11> why not an external enclosure, and an internal drive?
<11> it works out cheaper
<19> I toldd her we could do that to, I'm letting her pick what she wants
<19> but there's a 250 gig external for 99 so its not bad
<11> it'll make no difference to her..same process of just plugging it in and having it work
<19> apearance
<11> you can get some great looking external enclosures
