<1> now back to me: i've installed nvidia-drivers, unmasked load "glx" in the config and x starts fine with driver "nvidia" in the gfx card section in xorg.conf (i also get a nice nvidia splash)... but i get like.. 500 fps in glxgears, which is the same that i get with software emulation on the nv dummy driver
