<0> goddamnit <1> hey, where is the file that specifies what version of gentoo I'm running? <2> blaise: /etc/make.profile ? <3> /etc/gentoo-release <1> Gentoo Base System version 1.12.6 <1> hrmm <1> when will /usr/portage/profiles/default-linux/x86/2007.x exist? <1> february? <2> generally end of January is when they come out <1> sweet... <2> blaise: 2007.0 won't bring anything new <2> only new livecd features/support <1> :) <1> I have a dual layer dvd+r that's dieing for some gentoo
<1> :) <2> or you can talk to piercey who has his own livedvd <1> I wish the mythtv and mythdvd sources were more mature... <0> I wish my mom didn't die today <0> oh wow my wish came true. <4> snap <4> man, i wish stock trading was ****ing easier <0> new years wishes :D <4> I'm stuck in germany, and need to do all sorts of stupid payments <2> Jaded: it is for me ;-) <4> which my bank won't let me do online <4> so I'm going to have to call them and it's going to be a nightmare <4> one mistake and they will send my money to the wrong person <4> CannedBar: this is for vested options, not just share dealing <2> same here <4> ok I'm in germany, my banks' in the uk, and the shares are vested in california <4> :P <2> it still wouldn't matter to me <4> course it would <4> becuase uk banks don't allow you to do international transfers <4> without being there in person <2> Jaded: nah, it wouldn't matter because there would be no reason for me to have money in a UK bank unless I lived there <4> but thats the point <4> I do <4> hence it's not that easy <4> however, on the flip side <4> I don't have US taxes to worry about <5> abc <4> ;) <6> boooooooooooyyyyaaahhhh <7> had dinner with a old friend that I havent seen in 2.5 years... and shes still cute <4> http://tam.section.me.uk/squirrel.jpg <4> thats genius <7> lol nice <5> Poor squirrel <5> :( <8> i guys, i have a strange problem. I'm on a slackware box remote where i need to install gentoo. But if i want to enter the chroot it gives me an error, that the kernel is too old. Any solutions to this without rebooting? <9> Decrypter, what's the error you get? <8> segmentation fault <8> on chown <9> and why do you think the kernel is too old? <9> does it say anything like that? <8> ow sorry, wrong chan <8> kernel is to old <8> i have a 2.4 kernel in that slackware machine <8> gentoo stage is build against 2.6 <8> but i found solution, i downloaded 2004.3 stage <8> will boot into that and update <9> cool <9> i've never heard of that error <9> OH <9> you know what it is? <9> glibc 2.4 <9> you either need glibc 2.3.x/2.5.x or Linux 2.6.x <10> I got a motherboard with a soundblaster audigy ls chip on-board (ca0106 driver). I've gotten sound working, but only one stream at a time. Someone on the forum said i need to set it up with dmix, as it has no hardware mixing. Anyone know how to do that? <9> bjornelo, http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_ALSA_sound_mixer_aka_dmix <10> thanks, i'll give it a shot
