<0> how sweet
<0> i forget .. why aren't headphones an option for you
<2> oh dude, iterm owns.
<2> i can move tabs between windows
<1> kitchen: welcome to last year
<3> anyone knows if gentoo have support for RISC processors?
<4> the text on parts of my screen seem to be a little blury. like a vetical bar all the way up and down. is this a problem with vertical refresh or horizsync ?
<4> last try
<1> quannum: I can't have any objects with 'cords' on them because I'll try to hang people with them, that's the reason.
<5> sup bitrot
<1> and I'm too cheap to buy wireless headphones.
<1> jasmine: my blood pressure
<5> :(
<5> ?

<2> bitrot: dude, I just started using it fuqoff
<2> :P
<1> yeah well
<1> everytime i say that
<1> someone says something just as stupid as I did
<1> so it's my turn
<2> :P
<5> i just finally got Twinview and Seperate X screen modes working with nvidia-drivers yesterday after 2 days of constant fiddling with config/nvidia-settings/ and lockups/reboots
<5> with tv-out..
<5> it's so weird that so many different configurations would make nvidia-drivers lockup the machine every time
<5> i tried to search the nvidia forum yesterday, but required signup, so i tried to register for a forum account then it said something stupid like "the administrator has banned your email address" wtf
<6> xp is making me mad
<6> it won't let me select which usb audio to use in itunes
<7> jasmine: http://mrecho.net/xorg.conf dual monitors
<6> google talk works just fine
<5> mrecho i found out it was the frequencies that "nvidia-settings" automatically put in for the TV, as well as missing config option in screen section like : Option "UseDisplayDevice" "TV"
<7> heh
<5> funny thing there was no mention of that on other guides/howtos online, including gentoo-wiki (probablly cause most are quite outdated, back to 04 / 05)
<5> turns out that it was the "ConnectedMonitor" option has changed to "UseDisplayDevice", and for TV-out setup that had to be manually added by hand (nvidia-settings doesn't add it) or else the machine would lockup hard as soon as the nvidia logo shows on the screen, and the tv just goes blank
<5> i realiezd that after i read the whole README.gz file in the nvidia-drivers pkg, which happened to be like a 100 pages
<5> heh
<1> jasmine fix my box
<1> it keeps rebooting intermittently
<1> no rhyme or reason
<8> hi, can i do a remote-install with the minimal cd? or do i have to download the universal?
<5> bitrot hrm weirrrrrrd
<1> yeah
<1> going to do a mem test tonight
<5> bitrot: pengu.in ?
<1> hoping it's that
<1> jasmine: yes
<5> damn...
<1> only box i run ****ing linux on
<5> i am on it too right now :\
<1> yeah
<1> it froze up twice yesterday
<1> and then once this morning
<5> no wonder i couldnt copnnect to my bnc no more :\
<5> figured you fux0red with the firewall settings
<5> hmmmm freezing too
<5> maybe the server caught a cold
<5> bitrot: dunno, lemme see if i have access to logs even
<8> ok, i guess it works with the minimal cd :)
<1> jasmine: yay WOW
<1> I NEVER THOUGHT OT CHECK THE LOGS
<1> JESUS
<1> GOOD THING YOURE HERE
<1> HOLY ****
<1> HOW DID I EVEN TAKE A **** WITHOUT YA
<5> lol
<5> you'll be ok now that i am here :)
<1> >:|
<1> i ****ing hope so
<5> lol
<1> cus i'm going crazy
<5> i hope so too
<1> between random **** on my box happening
<1> the idiot that can't use his keyboard
<1> and the god damn customers that keep calling in complaning bout stupid ****

<5> lol
<1> i'm ready to go postal
<5> yikes
<1> OH
<1> AND NEWEGG DIDNT GIVE ME BACK MY TWO HUNDERED DOLLARS
<1> yeah
<1> i'm ****ing THRILLED
<5> i have no access to logs anyways :\
<1> no **** you ****ing don't
<5> heh
<1> you don't need to have access to logs
<6> i do
<5> no i dont
<0> i exported a log this morning
<1> yeahhhh awesome
<1> I think i was actually stupid enough to delete my RMA ****ing email
<1> kick ***
<5> WTG!!
<1> yeah but i have the tracking # w/ UPS that i shipped the pkg with in my car
<1> so I can call em up ask them if they got it
<1> cus i did put the RMA# on the box
<5> or by accnt number / invoice num / etc..
<1> and then be like wtf where is my money
<5> newegg customer service is okay
<1> yeah which is all logged on their site anyways
<1> actually they're outstanding
<5> at least better than dell's customer service ;p
<1> any customer service will usually do something if you whine like a ****ing bitch on the phone
<1> even credit me $200 that they own me for sending me a piece of **** HD DVD player that broke after 15 ****ing mins of using it
<5> yah but for dell to replace a bad drive for your machine can take up to 3 or 4 months
<1> I told them i'm no longer interested in the product so I want a full refund
<5> heh
<5> they have to like send someone out, it's ridiculous
<1> jasmine: right but they replace the drive.
<5> talking from another friend's experience btw
<5> i told him he would've been a lot better off if he had let me build him the machine from parts ordered from newegg ;p
<5> oww
<6> :)
<5> i ama poke yuo with another head
<5> of a dildo
<6> promise?
<6> in the butt?
<5> suuuuuuuuure
<6> atm?
<5> but you have to promise to take it like a man
<9> kepeaad
<10> nefajx
<11> dobowx
<12> installing gentoo without a live internet connection, would I need the livedvd?
<6> yo'ull need the tarball for base sysem and portage
<2> a *stage3* tarball for base system
<5> livecd contains stage3 tarball, no need for livedvd heh
<5> or even minimal cd
<12> does that include a gui, apache, and the source code?
<5> you can install X and apache etc.. from precompiled packages which are on the livecd/livedvd
<5> but i wouldn't suggest using the gui installer as it's basically crap
<2> imo, if you want a gui installer and binary packages, use kubuntu
<5> kubuntu is based on debian no?
<2> correct
<1> all of it is
<5> then that's the WTG ;p
<1> all the untus are
<2> bitrot: actually, all the untus are the same
<1> kidn of sick of compling **** to be honest
<5> hehe
<1> makes no sense on a ****ing linux system that has bins available for everything.
<2> just different livecds and installed pacakges
<2> bitrot: yea, that's why i've moved to *unbuntu for desktop systems
<2> plus it Just Works
<5> bitrot: actually it sorta does make sense
<1> the gains of performance you get w/ compling everything is minimal if even noticeable
