<0> no left side <0> thats the entirety of the statement <1> yeah, but there's nothing 'wrong' with it. <1> All valid code, just stupid! lol <0> yeah there is, theres no left side. <1> flash never moans about no left side. <0> in c, c++ c# and prolly Java i bet you get at least a warning <0> anyway, goin blind <1> heh <1> font++ <2> does someone know an fla for FLash Paper for editing the interface for the flashpaper player ? <2> DefaultViewer.fla <2> does someone can give me that DefaultViewer.fla file :) ? <0> dont got it <2> BAD !

Now that I went and used it anyway, I have to break the news to the client :) It's ok right now as I'm delivering the CD version first, which is a projector.. For the web version I've packed every piece of easy transition there's out there: detection, express install, no ActiveX popups etc. I've also prepared that I might have to port it to F7 <5> but how do I brak the news to the client in a positive spin :) <5> break <6> heh <3> hey all <6> just go: "lol I used F8!" <5> morde-wrk, haha <6> say it cheerfully <5> morde-wrk, I've the feeling this might not work well <6> just lie and say you HAD to use f8 <6> just say some of the stuff could not be done with f7 <3> just say you're my guinea pigs corporate fools <6> oh oh <5> morde-wrk, the guy's a dastabase programmer, I wish we didn't knew how to turn his PC on, but not the case :) j.k. <6> just say that you have to be on the edge of technology! <6> ok, then just pretend like it's not a problem. just act like everything is ok <5> morde-wrk, btw it's true that lots of the stuff I used can't be done in F7 anyway, though I've found a way to port them down approximately, even if the result will be ****ier (****ier = F7 look) <6> if you get yourself in a corner on this one, as a final resort, just trop your pants and show them your cock. <6> their protests will cease. <6> I know this. <5> morde-wrk, ok you made me laugh for sure but not sure I got a real solution yet :) <5> morde-wrk, I guess I'll try the "come on it'll be fun" approach and be ready to port down. <5> for the least part, the CD version heavily benefitted from the F8 features <5> in looks, speed and so on <5> morde-wrk, I think I'm doing service to the guy anyway, F8 will catch on soon enough <7> ask him if he wants to be leader or follower <7> if he says leader - say good, cuz yer **** is f8 <5> SHiZNiT, lol.. <7> if he says follower, tell'm you'll be back after lunch
<7> and gtf to work <7> :P <5> hehe <0> my answer is, plead your case before you begin the work <0> :P <0> foo <5> Squee-D, you know we discussed this in length, but what I didn't knew in advance is how much of what I had to do is breeze in F8 and hella hard and lame in F7 <0> really? I didnt realise there were that many differences, i guess you're taking advantage of some of the very new stuff? <5> Also it's especially hard, I've been using flash 8 for about an year or more now (betatester), and still never managed to use it in my work. It's frustrating ****. <0> heh <0> I've been using flash 8 from the day it came out <0> in my work <5> Squee-D, well I'm using lots of stuff: bitmap caching improves speed of what I do greatly and makes it playable on an average PC, I use 9-slice scaling for the entire interface (that'll be a bitch to port down :P), also bitmap effects make the text look a lot more readable against that "gl***" background I did. And so on and so on <0> very little of it is a great boon to my job tho, however the XML parsing times are consderably better <0> 9 slice shouldnt be to horrible if you dont tight couple your clips. <5> also using the new text rendering engine, which is hella sharper than the vector one <5> Squee-D, there's a fill over the panels that can't be simulated without 9-slice, except if I redraw witht he drawing API <5> I'll prolly use drawing API if I have to <0> suv4x4 i've had to write a 9 slice manager that can do everything the current 9slce does <0> and more, it handles bitmaps as well as vector <5> well this one handles bitmaps too if you slice it... but the thing you can't do without drawing API is avoid the fill stretching like your 9-slice vectors do. in 9-slice the fill stretches uniformly <5> in your manager I suppose you preslice the stuff and ***ign behaviour , so it practically stretches everything, including their fill <0> i dont understand what you mean, but i'll take your word on it <5> k :) <5> Squee-D, you wanna be a leader or a follower :P <5> SHiZNiT, got more flash8 marketing **** like this btw :)?: <0> Dude, i've successfully wiggled myself into a job where i can use the latest release since version 4 <0> and i was beta on 5, 6 and 7 which helped me get people excited about letting me use it :P <0> so use that to your advantage <0> dude i was on the beta, i've got so much experience with it, and you wouldnt get this kinda quality anywhere else <0> or summin like that <0> Danewho? <0> :) <5> Squee-D, what kind of stuff fo you do? <0> kiosks, educational, apps <5> I vaguely remember Danelaw benning me from here few years ago for some reason (prolly not smart to bring it up, but what the hell: I ain't no smart) <0> currently writing a frontend for an enterprise level fleet trackig tool <5> Squee-D, anything with on-line deployment> <5> aha <0> not lately <0> last decent size internet project was 99dogs. <5> well online deployment's a bitch <0> that was like around about the release of flash 5 <0> Smurf <0> grrr <0> if you count intranet and private internet, plenty of online deployment <5> nah I don't :) <0> that is the educational stuff i did reached about 8 thousand enrollees a year <0> full year course <0> so i dunno, maybe im not clueless, who know <0> s <0> with scrom compliance, and ieee, oh what fun <0> scorm* <0> im definitely gunna have to switch back to my old dirty keyboard. <0> I can't type for **** on this one <5> Squee-D, you'll get used to it :P <5> Squee-D, you had to see my first weeks on a Wacom :P <0> its too.. resistive. <0> Nah my fingers are gunna ache if i keep using this one <0> It's like using a manual typewriter <3> suv4x4 http://pastebin.sekati.com/?id=Anonymous@72826-ddab2943-t - which node is <Nam>Nam</Nam>? <5> haha, what brand <0> PowerWave, cheap and nasty, it just looked so good <5> Squee-D, I' <5> Squee-D, I've noticed most of them propritary layout features, so that once you're used, you're hooked for life. I hated the way Enter is done on the Logitech ones, but now that I'm used to it, I'd rather keep buying Logitech kb-s than getting used back to the cl***ic layout <5> DekaPatro. what? <0> 1set 2log 3err 2/err 3bal 2/bal 1/log 2Data 3Res 4k 3/k 4id 3/id 4Nam <0> 4th child i say DekaPatro <3> trace("the answer is: " + this.firstChild.childNodes[1].childNodes[1].childNodes[1]); - returns undefined <3> or is that wrong <0> layouts not the problem at all on this one. i can home on all the keys comfortably, The problem is the very high resistance. Incredibly tight, spongy keys <0> yeah thats wrong. <5> DekaPatro, maybe it's this.firstChild.firstChild.childNodes[3], but I could be wrong <5> or rather this.firstChild.firstChild.firstChild.childNodes[3]
