<0> and modern <2> hey can anyone help me with unloading external movieclips from my movie? <2> see what im trying to do is.. i've created through actionscript four empty movieclips in which i load external jpegs... well now the problem is.. the levels i've loaded them into... i cant seem to make them disappear when i click the button. the movie does what its supposed to, but the images are still displayed.. im new to this channel, but if you could help i would greatly appreciate it. <1> hello JonSch <1> welcome to #fash <1> flash <1> even <1> ;) <2> hello <1> you could always hide the images _alpha = 0 <2> hmm i suppose i could... which actually isnt a bad idea.. except they are created as movie clips and you cant do alpha on movieclips can you? <1> removeMovieClip() <1> yes you can <2> so i can do <1> !google actionscript removeMovieClip() macromedia livedocs <2> btnRemove.onClick = function() { <3> http://livedocs.macromedia.com/flash/mx2004/main_7_2/00001549.html <2> movie._alpha = 0; <2> ?? <1> yes <2> lemme try it <2> see things used to be so simple with flash 4 <2> i purchased a copy of flash 8 <2> jesus <2> its so different <1> or you could do <1> my_mc.removeMovieClip() <1> I am far from an AS expert btw <1> i'm more of a ***pert <1> than an AS experrt :) <2> lol <2> i love the actionscript part of flash <2> i like everything about it really <1> :) <2> you can do so much with it <1> and flash likes everything about you i bet <1> have you considered asking it on a date? <1> I hear it likes roses <1> :o <2> alright <2> the alpha thing was a no go <1> how come? <0> lol <1> could be a scope issue <1> not that i know what scope is exactly ;) <2> meaning different levels? <1> but people here say it lots <1> yes <1> different levels <2> yeah <2> well the images are loaded into four different levels <1> trace(moveclipname); <2> ive scoped them into levels 1, 2, 3, 4 <1> have you tried using swapDepths to achieve your results <1> ? <1> do you have an SWF online of what you are doing? <1> i will be right back <2> i can post one online if you'd like <1> yep <1> SmilyOrg is very helpful
<1> hi SmurfMX <1> SmilyOrg <1> even <1> * <1> stupid tab <1> =\ <4> hi <4> i just made a php script that gathers import statements fron a fla file and smartly caches them \o/ <0> hi SmilyOrg <4> from* <1> that is nice SmilyOrg <1> have u been outside today? <4> it is <4> nope <4> what is this outside you speak of? <1> aliens <1> can you help JonSch with a little problem he is having <1> ? <0> daaaaamn 77 over here <0> i havent been outside though <4> i don't see jonschie talking though :/ <2> actually <4> omg <4> he speaks <4> lol <2> i appreciate it.. but i've figured it out <2> what happened was.. i created a movie inside a movie clip <4> that's a nice surname JonSch <2> so that i could resize images loaded externally <2> and i was removing the wrong movieclip <2> all i had to do was.. myClip.removeMovieClip(picone); <4> hah <4> that happens <2> haha and i found out i had two calls to the same button action.. btnBio.onRelease = function() { <2> so i was doomed from the word go <1> :) <5> I have some MC's that I'm going to use as buttons to navigate between the sections of a piece. Each one is an instance of 'button_mc' and each is individually named. <5> Where should I attach a cl*** definition to the 'button_mc' (eg as a prototype) so all of those button instances will automatically have the cl*** on them, operate the same way, etc? <2> haha <2> my mistake. <5> Do I pretty much just need to use the Object.registerCl*** method? <1> I am not sure thm <1> thom <1> * <1> eight, when working out do you ever have days when your arms are just really tired and struggle to lift weights? <0> well i dont do big weights... im not trying to get muscles... they tend to slow you down... but sometimes when i work on one arm all day long like all left jabs and all left hooks etc... then that arm hurts but generally they dont hurt <0> but i work on throwing non stop punches for 3 minutes straight with 1 minute rest in between rounds... i do that for about 10 rounds a day <0> when i sparr and when i do actually fight it will be 3 rounds at 2 min each <0> and i do it with gloves which weigh about 1 pound each <0> 14 oz <0> plus sweat <1> do you find that if you havent had enough water during the day, your arms feel sluggish? <0> when i fight it will be 10 oz gloves <0> yes... i tend to sweat alot so if i dont have water before working out i get tired reeeeeally quickly <0> and real sluggish <1> maybe that is why my arms dont want to do anythign today <1> i havent had a drink <1> lol <0> usually people dont drink water just sips... i need a boat load of water <0> lol <1> i lift 5kg 40times a rep, and do 10 reps a day <1> 5kg on both arm <0> thats pretty good <1> just dumbells <0> u do anything like situps or push ups? <1> yep <1> but not as often <0> can u do pull ups? <0> heh i can barely do 3
