<5> Im having trouble with doing fading text... it seems simple enough, just changing between 0 and 100% alpha, I do this and when I do "control -> play" it fades as expected, but when I do "test movie" or view it with a web browser it runs as if there never were any alpha changes at all, i.e. always at 100%. I am new to flash so it is almost certainly something simple I am missing, any advice?

<4> dave on the first frame u have a symbol..on the last another one...that's not the way to make tweens

<2> cos another way to fade in or out something is to make a shape the same colour as the background, convert it to a movie clip, and fade it in or out with alpha (opposite to what u want the alpha of the text to be)

<2> dave, delete your keyframes that span the animation. Then make one keyframe for the beginning of the animation. Put your text in there. convert to movie clip. Then make your end key frame. Now adjust the alpha for the beginning key frame and the end. Create motion tween.
