<0> google cant help me with this problem ...its called me...being dozy
<2> sorry but i dont think i can help you much
<3> modprobe -r dozy
<3> modprobe lively
<2> jst installed fc4 yesterday
<0> without the remote console unit I would have been stuffed
<4> hey guys. im using fc4. im trying to install php from source, not rpm/yum. i configure and install it fine to /usr/local but apache doesnt seem to realize it. is there something special i need to do?
<4> i did php.ini-recommended /usr/local/lib/php.ini
<4> and AddType application/x-httpd-php .php .phtml
<4> still nothing
<5> did you restart apache after making those changes?
<4> ya
<4> it just printed out the code
<4> then i rebooted. and now it gives me file to download
<4> im guessing apache doesnt know where php is
<5> sounds like its not loading the module
<6> is anyone alive?
<6> if so, I need to format my hd so I can put windows back on a laptop I'm taking back, does anyone know what I need to do
<7> fdisk it
<7> or just install windows
<7> the installer will overwrite it
<6> problem is the ****ty installer that acer includes says there isn't enough space on the partition before I can get anywhere
<6> how can I fdisk it?
<1> fdisk c:
<1> follow the instructions
<1> !google windows 98 boot disk
<8> http://www.bootdisk.com/
<6> ok, now the problem is trying to find a boot disk that I can burn to a cd
<1> ^^
<1> floppy disk
<6> can't
<6> no floppy driver
<6> err
<6> minus the r
<1> then just use the windows disk you have, it should give you the option to reformat the disk
<6> the windows disk doesn't boot on it's own, neither do real copies of xp
<6> the only option is to use acer's *** backwards recovery cd
<6> Super Fdisk will do a bootable cd rom, but I don't have $29 to pay for it
<6> I hope there's a better option :x
<1> you have a fedora install ccd?
<1> ...it has fdisk on it
<1> linux rescue at the prompt
<6> nice, it's on an unlabeled dvdr so I'm gonna have to do some digging :)
<6> thx, it's not gonna be fdisk c: though, is it?
<9> find ~ -type f | egrep -wn 'whether\|wither'*>>my.search
<9> i'm trying to search a file in ~ that has either whether or wither
<9> this command doesn't seem to work
<9> any suggestions?
<10> does anyone know a good gui programming suite for linux? something for coding C C++ and other popular languages
<11> qt
<9> built in
<9> is in c development tools
<12> Hello. What tool in fedora manages links to initialization scripts in the differet runlevels? (such as debian's update-rc.d)
<1> gui or console?
<12> console
<1> chkconfig
<1> chkconfig --list

<12> thanks :)
<1> yup
<12> night.

<14> uname -a
<13> Fedora Core release 4 (Stentz) 2.6.15-1.1831_FC4
<13> i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
<14> have you installed an ntfs kernel module already ?
<14> try this
<14> rpm -ivh http://superb.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/linux-ntfs/kernel-module-ntfs-2.6.15-1.1831_FC4-2.1.25-0.rr.10.4.i586.rpm
<13> no thats what im trying to do
<13> intall a curnel module
<13> that package is installed already
<10> mount -t ntfs /dev/hdXX /mnt/winblows

<15> hey all, I'm trying to get my netgear (madwifi driver) to work on my laptop. The laptop can see it an what not, ifconfig ath0 up works, but it still won't connect. I think it's not like choosing the wireless nic as the one to use over the ethernet port...?
<15> any help?
<15> fedora 4
<15> btw
<10> disable eth0
<10> make sure your wep key starts with an "x" if you have one
<15> yeah, did that, did that
<15> thing is, I want this to be able to "just work" cuz it's for my girlfriend, so can't I just leave both activated, and it'll just go through the one that works?
<10> the system sees them both as "working"
<10> you can show her how to turn them on and off
<10> she doesn't need root access to bring the devices on and offline
<15> alright, fine, but what about the fact that when I deactivate eth0, ath0 still doens't work.
<10> try it with no wep key .. make sure the channel is correct and you have the correct essid
<10> also .. service network restart
<15> ****, channel 6 not 11
<15> duh
<10> if you try it "bare bones" first .. and you still can't connect .. you have a driver issue
<15> alright, so it works now (thanks), but only on dhcp
<15> I want to ***ign it an ip
<15> oh, and have it work, too
<15> thank you, apc I appreciate your help
<15> anyone?
<10> i can help you with that
<10> what is your routers ip?
<10> 192.168.0.?
<15> 1.1
<15> 192.168.1.1
<10> ok
<10> that will be your DNS and gateway ip
<15> dns? really?
