<3> hmm ok, well the 2.5 kernel is frezeing when it gets to pcmcia + firewire + (may be other? i just did failsafe after it froze with firewire) detection. The same thing happen with debian, and this is a new laptop. 2.4 works perfect, is there any boot code i can run to execute 2.4 instead or can i do anything else?

<0> well, this is a debian chanel, we're experts on debian, not knoppix. and what they call their boot images is one of the things that is HIGHLY likely to be called something entierly diffrent than on debian
