I tried removing everything from startup, even trying that registry edit that autocloses all programs before restart but it still persisted. I also got random errors after closing programs relating to memory (i forget the exact dialogue)

<3> One more annoyance was the fact that some installers would hang on "registering fonts". Yesterday I upgraded the cpu, mb, and vid card, but carried over the ram, ps, hd. The problems persist to a T with a fresh install of windows xp. I ran memtest86+ last night for 9 hours, p***ed with flying colours. Any ideas? Are these common hd/ps issues, or does it relate to the fact that I installed windows xp with 3 ram mod
