I tried removing everything from startup, even trying that registry edit that autocloses all programs before restart but it still persisted. I also got random errors after closing programs relating to memory (i forget the exact dialogue) <3> wow that's a novel, sorry <4> whats up guys? <1> curryjl10- NOTHING

I tried removing everything from startup, even trying that registry edit that autocloses all programs before restart but it still persisted. I also got random errors after closing programs relating to memory (i forget the exact dialogue) <3> One more annoyance was the fact that some installers would hang on "registering fonts". Yesterday I upgraded the cpu, mb, and vid card, but carried over the ram, ps, hd. The problems persist to a T with a fresh install of windows xp. I ran memtest86+ last night for 9 hours, p***ed with flying colours. Any ideas? Are these common hd/ps issues, or does it relate to the fact that I installed windows xp with 3 ram mod <8> maybe ur disk is fuct? <6> win is <9> hmm <9> could be a cpu overheat issue <9> or a memmory bus interaction that doesn <9> or a memmory bus interaction that doesn't affect memtest
<9> you don't have a sb live by chance do you ? <10> at all times check that your caps are not bulged;) <10> if its a system stability ect issue <11> <9> how stupid do I have to be before someone realizes what a dumb piss*** piece of change I am??? <10> I dunno wasn't reading previous crap <8> nosun its new mobo <10> ok easy solution take it back and trade for other:P <10> jk's <10> I dunno <6> Beatdown time <6> how long does memtest take to run <6> im going on 567 hours <8> hah it will run forever <8> fast computer needs what 20 mins prob to run it once <6> 2.0ghz <9> optware WRONG <9> you need several hrs to run memtest properly <6> couple days straight do the job? <9> days only if you really suspect you have random soft errors <6> So if smoke shoots out my case vents then I know its done? <9> or the memory wasn't handled properly etc <9> no it just runs forever <9> just check the # of cycles and if you got several cycles completed and no errors <9> then the ram is probably ok <10> there are some things that have very little to do with the actual speed of the computer... and no matter how fast the computer it will always be the same or similar speed <9> the problem with memory is soft errors don't always happen <10> usually they are ***ociated with hardware <10> formatting for instance <9> if they did even the lame bios memory check would find them <0> heh i just got a legit free copy of redhat enterprise <0> leetness <10> no matter what computer you have it usually takes roughly the same time:P <9> basterd <8> haha few hours? <6> comps ****s <8> you sure? <9> optware yes <6> redhat ****ux? <9> at least <9> I got for a min of 3 cycles <9> p***ed <0> we had to order a new workstation for the new graphics girl... dual 3.0ghz xeons, 2gb ram.. and it was included free... <9> unless it errors out instantely <10> despy get openbsd <12> despy: Is the graphics girl cute? <10> its better;) <10> lot 1337er <0> nosun: thats not the point <0> i run freebsd myself <6> tell the graphics girl you want to take graphics of her <9> I perfer linux <8> 10 minutes on a very fast computer to over an hour on a computer from a couple of years ago <9> and sticking to linux for many yrs to come <8> oh you dont need 10 p***es <9> *BUT* <8> 1 p*** is same <9> freebsd is a decent os <9> not going to bash it <10> your graphs seem to point that you have to grapheti her up <9> if I only had achoice between win9x and bsd <9> bsd wins every time :) <8> freebsd is awesome <10> and graph it right <10> maybe when I get my lappy I will use freebsd <10> else debian or something <0> and yes, the graphics girl is cute <0> but thats neither here nor there <0> im a married man ;p <0> just for fun before i throw server 2003 on this thing... i configured rh on it <0> want to see it boot <0> 45 secs including dhcp <0> up to xwindows
