<0> 2 here, one downstairs
<0> we pay for 2 ip's
<1> yeah
<0> 2 here is all i'm worried about
<1> net the whole office through the one with connection shareing
<1> i mean, house
<1> heh
<1> i have to go here in a minute
<1> i just got a frantic call from the ppl i was working with last night
<0> this one will connect directly to the net, but my other cant, although it will connect to the net through this computer
<1> on their network
<0> any reasons why it could connect through ICS but not directly?
<2> what do you have as a gateway on either computer
<0> no gateway
<3> hi
<3> any one guide me about the computer

<2> nehvar, you need a gateway to leave the internal network
<0> well i checked and all the options are setup exactly like this comp
<0> but if i take this cable out and plug it in there, it wont connect
<0> but it can connect through ICS, through this comp
<0> so i dunno =x
<4> lol
<2> dunno man, if you're setting up the ICS computer and it's manual and you're not setting a gateway but getting to the internet you're breaking some old rules
<2> can't say why it works but can say it shouldn't
<0> well when you use the windows ICS wizard thing it auto sets a gateway
<2> the gateway ip should have been provided by your isp unless you're pulling dhcp you'll have to set it manually
<0> but for the main connection you dont need a gateay right?
<2> only way you're gonna get done what you're doing the way you're doing it is to plug your hub into the ICS computer
<2> and then plug all clients into the hub
<2> i don't know if that's possible with ICS, never used it
<2> but ics is basically just acting as a router so theoretically it should work
<0> well i have it working how i want already
<0> i just want to switch which one is hosting it, cause that one crashes sometimes
<5> </dance>
<2> so go through the ics wizard again and call your isp to resynch, or leave your modem off for awhile
<0> ok gonna try a few things, be back
<2> the problem is likely that your modem just needed to be reset, it remembers the mac address of the last thing plugged into it
<2> ...
<5> Yuo could easily chance the MAC address on the NIC on the other PC and replace it with the other.
<5> Vise versa.
<5> Just make sure each NIC has a unique MAC address or you will have problems.
<6> Soup
<2> troopa, you're more than welcome to talk him through changing his nic when he gets back here
<2> heh
<2> the trouble people go through when they could just go get a 50$ router
<5> I will up until it is time for me to leave.
<2> they're the reason my email is full of junk all the time
<5> I depart in 30 minutes to go spy on someone, ha ha.

<7> yes
<7> lol
<7> i just did myself
<7> doesnt exist :(
<2> Hooools, hold on a sec, how many public ip addresses do you have?

<8> 3
<2> you don't need the router then
<8> www.beatporn.org = nothing
<8> for why?
<2> cause the router is usually used for NAT
<8> what i have is 2 switches and a lot of ambition
<2> using 1 public ip and several privates
<7> hes got 4 machines
<2> and 3 unique ip addresses
<7> the only other option would be using one of your computers as a router with ICS
<8> cooo cooo cachoooo
<7> it would have to be on all the time though
<8> ICS - it's dynamite

<7> ..
<7> explain
<8> yes explain if u r so wise
<8> jk
<2> he only needs ics on one of the systems and the system without a public ip address would use that as it's router
<7> yes i suppose
