<14> believe artifacts (small white dots) are more related to the gpu not recieving enough voltage and its not able to fill the pixels causing the white dots to appear. I've read a few articles on this relating artifacts with memory corruption as two different things and based on my experience with o/cing this seems to be true. I can o/c just the gpu until artifacts appear and then up the voltage in the bios for the card and they will go away.
