<0> hi all... I was wondering if anyone knows where I could find a sample/tutroial of something as follows... I need to be able to import a comma delimited or excel file into an access database. I need it to import the matching fields...(ex. excel column 1 named: first_name would import to first_name on the access database... all field names that match from each row will be imported to teh table. IF anyone can help me accomplish this, i would be willing to throw them <0> needs to be ASP <1> where does IIS store temporary (cached) files of the asp files you run? <2> How can I get files with no extension to be executed as asp?
<2> i.e /scrape <2> anyone alive? <3> ive compiled an insert SQL statement e.g. strSQL = "'"&var1&"'", "'"&var2"'".. which words fine <3> however if var1 has a name in it like O'Toole i get an error <3> i presume this is because the ' is screwing up the sql statemnt <3> how would i get round this problem <4> in it's simplest form replace ' with '' <4> but google "SQL injection" for a while <4> Elfkin - get an answer? <2> g1bz: nope <4> you either have to map *.* in IIS to the asp isapi dll <4> or use an isapi filter to redirect all to one page <2> Ok
<2> thx <5> hello... iI'm trying to confirm something here... I am trying to p*** a variable that gets generated on a page to an SSI that is loaded within the page... this is never going to work is it as SSIs are always loaded before anything else? <6> IIS handles SSIs by loading everything into one big script <6> then executing it linearly <6> no code is run before the SSIs are all aggregated <6> Page A can include Page B. If a variable on Page A is created and given a value, Page B will have access to that variable, since, after SSI, Page A and B are 'one page', so to speakl <5> sooooo.... this should work technically? <5> ? <4> ssi is like an automated copy/paste that's all <4> nothing glamourous <4> so imagine copy pasting the code from the file inline where the ssi line is <4> and work your logic from there <5> it was just my crappy coding
Return to
#asp or Go to some related
