<0> Hi <0> how can i read a file without the "\n" newline at the end? <0> i tried $_ but with no luck
<0> got it <1> I've installed Device::ParallelPort but I'm getting a 'Can't locate object method "new" via package "Device::ParallelPort"'. I've looked around with google and others have had the same problem, but I did not see any solutions. Any ideas on what's wrong? <2> Tom, Admit it. The error message says more than that. <2> All perls I know will ALSO say in that same error message: (perhaps you forgot to load "Device::ParallelPort"?) <2> so, did you indeed load Device::ParallelPort ? And if you did, does it actually HAVE a new method ? <1> I have use Test; and use Device::ParallelPort::drv::win32; and both those work ok <2> so the answer seems to be: "No, I don't have it" <2> and you probably (unless the author chose a weird interface) are NOT supposed to load Device::ParallelPort::drv::win32 <2> normally in perl the main module is supposed to work this out for itself. <1> Oh, ok. Yeah I tried to just test with the code given in the manual page
<1> Since I couldn't locate any "real world" code <2> Yes, looking at the doc the synopsis page seems somewhat broken. It's the habit to also showe the "use" line there <1> ok, I am getting more meaningful errors that I can probably iron out. Thanks a lot for the help. <2> you're welcome <2> I'm out <3> can i set exactly what i found is a variable ? <3> ex: $string =~ m/cat.+?dogs/s text: all cats hate dogs <3> and set cats hate dogs as a variable <3> but not the holl line
Return to
#perl or Go to some related
