<dp2> it will give you some practice
<dp2> a recruiter had me to go on 3-5 interviews just for practice, and that helped a lot
<dp2> it taught me what to say and--more importantly--what to NOT say :)
<dp2> for example, I know that I'm terrible with open-ended question. I hate them! nevertheless, I had to ask for help on how to deal with them during interviews.

<dp2> actually, after a while, they can become kind of fun
<dp2> just as various companies use interviews to screen candidates, I use them to screen those companies
<dp2> btw, I'm very upfront about that too.

<dp2> I once had a recruiter to ask me to justify why he should consider me for a particular opportunity, and I flipped it on him. I told him that it should be obvious that I'm more than qualified for the opportunity (since he saw my resume), and I asked him to justify why I shouldn't go on with one of his competitors. ;)
<dp2> that approach doesn't always work with everyone, but I sensed that it might work with him--and it did.
