<6> xarius: the department head was making lots of changes to all the courses... most of which were really, really bad. for example, I virtually never gave homework... he wanted students to do 6-8 hours of homework a week... all of it pointless busywork. I wasn't about to tell students to do pointless busywork. I would also be required to fail them if they missed more than 2 weekly ***ignments, and a bunch of other really strict rules..
