<0> Plus everything is sore, hurting.... you're tired, you're exhausted.... your entire body just ran a marathon without your brain. <1> tell that to my C-nile niebor <0> but see, we're not senile. <0> We're fully coherent before and after. <2> or, at least, the senility and the seizures are unrelated. :) <0> ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! <0> toejam! <2> heh. it seemed like the least pointy of the things around me. :P <0> But yeah, seizure disorders are really stressful. <0> You never know when one is going to creep up on you. <0> You get a little advance warning sometimes if you have an aura... <0> but my aura is evident to other people <0> I smell things... usually coconut. <0> Or fruit loops. I don't know why it's those two things, but it is.
<0> Some peoplesmell burnt toast. <0> *shrug* <2> I could have thrown... a keyboard, a plate with a knife and fork on it, a toolbox, a pile of AA batteries, a stack of atx power supplies, an UH-2 UR3 set, a box of staples, a laser printer, or lots of other things... the sock seemed nicest. :P <0> But I feel really good before a seizure... that's a complex partial seizure happening. <0> I feel really warm and tingly... almost, honestly, like I'm in a warm bath. <0> i feel floaty.... I smell coconut (which smells really good to me) <0> things seem very clear and bright, they look more brilliant to me... slightly louder and more lucid. <0> to everyone else, I look drunk. <0> I am slurring my words, I am falling all over myself, I'm stammering... but to me, I'm just warm and happy and giggly and comfortable. <0> then I get dizzy for about 5 seconds, and the next thing I know, I'mwaking up. <2> so if you're drunk, do your seizures make you act sober? :) <0> I don't get drunk. <0> Too many prescription medications, too many medical conditions. <2> heh <0> if I drink at all, it's one, and I usually don't finish it. <0> I've got far too much to screw around with. <0> I'll have the occasional pina colada or frozen mudslide <0> perhaps a shot of tequila if I need help sleeping and am out of valium. <0> but never more. <0> A gl*** of wine here and there... but I won't buy a bottle for myself, because I waste all but that gl***. <0> valium is an evil, evil pill. As is xanax. <3> Half a bottle, to be exact. :/ <0> RuneB can tell you many nights of having to talk me down from valium and xanax. <0> xanax is, for lack of better comparisons, a fast-acting valium. <0> you take a pill, usually .25 or .5 milligrams, and it affects you within 5-10 minutes. <0> it is usually out of your system and no longer affecting you in less than an hour. <4> what console default font did you recommend me? <0> something very good if you have the occasional panic attack and don't want to take an anti-anxiety med (like a zoloft or effexor, et al) <2> don't know what those are either. heh. <0> lol <0> they're prescription daily anti=anxiety medications. <0> I research what I take quite thoroughly. <0> effexor is probably the most evil drug out there. <0> it is responsible for my heart problem. :) <0> which is why I stopped taking it. <0> I used to take xanax and valium on a multiple-times-daily basis. <0> I'm down to the valium maybe once or twice a week at worst, 3 times per month at best. <0> And the xanax is sporadic. I hate xanax. <0> I've done well at taking myself off of medications. <2> if you hate it, do you need to take it? <0> at times, yes. <3> Heh. <3> I used to work with a game whose server software had an internal variable called the "prozac factor". <3> I never found out what it did. o.O <0> post-traumatic stress disorder from having my face smashed up with an aluminum softball bat.... trouble at times dealing with the loss of my daughter.... typical agoraphobia... sometimes those things kick in. <0> other times, I function rather well without the xanax or valium. <4> what default console font did you recommend me? <0> The goal is to get completely off of the medications... and Nick and I have done really well at helping me get away from them so far. We have a ways to go, but we're making great progress ;) <2> s/at the/as the <0> snuggles help, yes :) <0> but there are times where i need to sleep through the anxiety.... thus a valium and a cup of hot tea with honey and lemon. <0> I just make sure that nick knows what I take, how much, when, and where. <0> He has all my pill cases and bottles at his control... he dispenses my medications to me when I need to take them. Helps keep me in check that way ;) <2> heh
<2> sebaaa: do not message people. <2> ask your question in the channel <5> ok <5> i want to know how to append a string at the end of a specified line of a file <2> sed or awk come to mind <5> yes <5> but i dont know use them very well <5> sed its more like a string replace tool <6> how about shell redirection? <6> echo "foo" >> your_file <6> ahh, end of a line <5> but i need to specify the number of the line <2> sed lets you specify line numbers. :) <5> sed let me append new text? <6> sebaaa: yeah, you just do search and replace on $ for the line <6> e.g. echo "foo" | sed -e s'/$/text at end of line/' <2> he only wants to do it on a specific line. <5> exactly <2> echo -e "a\nb\nc" | sed '2cfoo' <== there's an example for you to start with <6> I know that furrywolf I'm not going to hand him his answer on a silver platter <6> the man page explains it <2> clearly he is not of the man-page reading type. :) <6> sink or swim, I say <7> "So it ****s to be him, but I'm alright." <5> first time using sed <5> and no time <6> its perfectly alright to point someone in the right direction, but doing all the leg work just sets someone up for future failure <6> doing all the leg work for them, that is <3> Ya know, whenever someone says that, I'm almost positive that they spend *more* time trying to convince us to tell them than they would've spent looking it up themselves. <2> or.... echo -e "a\nb\nc" | sed '2s/.*/&foo/' <5> where is the line number furrywolf? <2> 2s/$/foo/ is even simpler, actually <5> thanks furrywolf! <5> :) <5> :) <0> ugh.. i do NOT want to go to work tomorrow <0> er, today. <0> er, sunday. <2> heh <0> yeah. <3> cobol: Please don't announce that in here. <3> uLet: You too. <3> Bah. <8> <8> <3> English? <8> my frist <3> Your first? <8> frist use this <8> what about you? <9> jeian, you're his first <8> who are you? <3> maby: At least my thousandth. :S <9> maybe hundred's of thouhsanths <3> According to my timer, I've been on IRC for 2,577 hours since I started counting. <3> Which was about a year and a half ago on this computer. Before that, I'd still been IRCing for about 4 years. <7> that's it? <3> :( <10> Yeah, I get that in like <7> My first time in IRC was in this very channel... in 1997 or 1998. <10> a week. <9> he's like 20 <9> what do you expect. <8> oh my english is poor! <3> maby: That's OK. I'm sure I speak your native language even worse. :< <3> Or even not at all. <8> what's this channel about? <7> well... it's probably about linux.
