<0> yes <1> ya <0> run it <0> what does it yield? <1> ;) <1> cheerz <2> could a misconfigured VRRP be misunderstood as spoofing attempt ? <3> I don't know a lot about vrrp, but yeah.. I would think it could <2> okie dokie <4> morning, all. <4> yeah. That about sums it up. <3> I need to make some money. <3> I also need to throw this KVM out the window. <5> ugh <4> nivek : If you figure out a way to make some cash... lemme know.
<5> Am I the only one that is wondering why we bothered having today? <4> I could _REALLY_ use a few extra bucks, but I can't really go get a second job. Pesky kids. <4> jblack : Nope. Today's just been teh sux. <3> same here <3> wife can't work either cause w/ daycare... she'd end up losing money <4> jblack : Tuesday I had to hold back EvilJeff... remember my story? <5> donate plasma? $10 and $15 a week <5> I.E. $100 a month <3> they pay more than that here :) <4> problem is... only places I know of that're around to donate plasma are only open during business hours. And I need something that I can do after business hours (from home, even?) <4> but if I can swing it... yeah. I'll let someone bleed me for $50 (what they pay around here) <3> a lot of the places here are open after-hours <3> I think you can make like $100/week doing it <5> vrsa got thrown out of one of those for life. <3> but man... it'll wear you out <4> never did it. <4> Why will it wear you out? jus the lack of fluid in the system and the body working to replace it? <3> yeah <3> that's why you're only allowed to do it like twice a week <4> and did I mention how much I _HATE_ needles? I donate blood when the Red Cross comes around to work. And that still freaks me out. <3> needles don't bother me... injections do. I could give blood all day long <4> not blood... plasma. <6> oh well, plasma <3> to get the plasma... they **** out some blood... centrifuge out the plasma... then pump the blood + saline back into you <4> the stick you, pull blood out, centrifuge it, and then give you your platlets back. <3> the do it again... and again... until the big bottle is full <6> oh <4> how long does it take? <3> hour or two... I've not done it in probably 10-12 years <4> eek. <4> "Evan... sit here and shut up. daddy has to make some money." <3> hahaha <6> :D <4> "And if you're bad, I'll let them stick a needle in you!" <3> they have the TV and stuff on <4> if evan wasn't with me, I'd just fall asleep. heh <6> 2 hours? i'd need porn be still that lonf. <6> course, i'm not a dad and that helps <4> jblack : anyway.. so the EvilJeff got subdued tuesday. Yesterday, I called teh court to ask "HEY! Where's my money?!" There's a bench warran tout for Amber. They just didn't know where to serve her. <4> "Do you want her address? How about the address of where she's working? I could get her work schedule for you if you'd like that, too." <4> This morning, I got a phone call... they went and picked her up. <4> EvilJeff has been dancing around my cubicle for almost 24 hours straight. <5> Dude, that's not evil stuff. <3> should sign him up for DDR contest <5> :) <4> well, no... but remember that there's two Jeffs... there's the Jeff that we all know and love. <4> And there's EvilJeff... he that must not be allowed to EVER speak. The Jeff that takes great joy in certain people's misery. <5> So, deadbeat mom is gonna spend the night in order to give her the experience of what it'll be like if she doesn't pay? <5> simmy: That's not evil. That's interest on what she owes. :) <4> well, no. This is the second time this has happened... <5> Call her dd for a few days. When she asks what it means, say "Oh.. deadbeat dad". :) <4> They pick her up, send her to court to stand in front of a judge who'll order "You have 48 hours to come up with <somewhat large sum of money in her eyes> and furthermore, if you go delinquent on your payments in the next <x months>, you'll be in contempt of court and will have a bench warrant issued." <4> for a few days? ****... do you realize that I talk to her MAYBE once a week? <5> rinse, sycle, repeat? <4> yeah, basically. <4> they also demand she provide employment info so they can garnish her wages. <4> that garnishment is waht I ultimately care about. Cause, given the chance, she wouldn't willingly pay. <5> so she gives that, quits, and finds a new job <4> She changed jobs and TELLS ME that she didn't tell the court for a bit cause she needed to "rebuild the emergency fund" <4> meanwhile, I'm starting to look for a second source of income because I'm _SO_ short on cash.
<5> donate plasma, stuff envelopes.... <4> I get paid tomorrow. I'll have to pay my mortgage with what's in my bank account come this time tomorrow... and I'll literally have about $10 left. <5> I'd send you some cash, but without work since March and winter coming... <4> oh... no. I won't accept cash from you. <5> I could loan you a few hundred <4> no. <5> Provided I get it back by jan <4> I'll make it. I always do. <5> simmy: Want a big secret? <4> But having been given the offer... I'll keep that on my "OH ****" list. <4> sure. <5> My savings account has $4100 in it <4> *blink* <5> It had $5000 when I quit. <3> wtf <4> Thankfully... with the numbers I ran, I only have about a month of this penny-pinching craziness. Then things will settle down... provided nothing bad happens. <5> Well guys, when I realized that a job wasn't coming soon, I clamped down like I was already broke. <4> jblack : seriously.. where would I get info on stuffing envelopes? I just need a quick fix. <5> Which I am. My income and outgo are within a hair of each other. I gave up the cell phone, canceled extra cable boxes, went down to one lightbulb in the house at a time. <5> Cut down my insurance to state minimums. <4> Wow. I haven't clamped down that hard. But I'm gettin gthere. <7> Why dont they make HD's that can slow down to 300RPMs ? should be enough for reading documents and stuff, no ? <4> yeah. My auto insurance went down to PL&PD. <5> Next time, do it before your starving, not after. ;) <4> heh. <4> NO need for full coverage on a 6 year-old car. <5> My car insurance is from $1,000 a year down to $600. My home insurance went from $110 a month to $50 a month. <5> And I count every drop of gas I put into the car. <4> my home insurance is $138/year. <5> How's that? <5> Maybe I should shop. <4> it's only content insurance. I own a condo. SO the building, itself, is covered by the ***ociation (and paid for by ***ociation fees) <5> ahhh <5> Ok. I have a huge house. <5> and btw, $4100 doesn't look like much when you remember my heat is $700 a month to keep the house at 60. <4> I have $70K in content coverage. That's more than I need... but I can't figure out what it'd take to replace EVERYTHING in my place. <4> And to bring it down to $40 would save e $8/year. So it's not worth it. <5> Yeah. <4> I'm not _THAT_ poor. :D <5> Envelope stuffing. You see jobs like that in the back of the examiner and star news. <4> "need extra cash? Work from home" ??? <5> If you change your deductable from $500 to $2,000, then you may get your insurance from $138 a year down to $50 <3> $138 a year?? <5> And that works out to $7.50 a month <3> I pay that a month <5> Yeah. I bet he's not paying $138 a year. <5> simmy: Have a cell phone? <4> yeah. It's almost my main phone. I use it a considerable amount. <5> Have dsl? <4> I have vonage at home for $15/month so that there's a phone at home when Evan's home with the babysitter. <5> Ok. Then the cell phone is a luxry <4> comcast cablemodme. And I scrapped teh CATV already. I don't use it. <5> That was the hardest thing for me to give up <4> I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable giving up my cell. There are people that need to get in touch with me during the day. And I'm away from my desk so often that giving peopl emy work number would be a bad thing. <4> Not only that, but it'd make it more obvious that I"m doing things at work tha ti"m really not supposed to be.... <4> (nvermind that I'm sure IRCing at work is a bad thing. hehehehe) <5> Ok. If the company wants that luxury, let them pay. <4> they pay half. <4> side-job. :) <5> simmy: Then it sounds to me like you have more than $10 a month to make it on <4> jblack : oh. no... I have $10 to make the next week. <5> Oh. Heh. That's easy as long as you stay out of the car <4> a week from tomorrow, I'll get paid again and I can start working on building up MY emergency fund. <5> The easiest way to save money is to go nowhere. For anything. <9> vpns rox <5> $10 will get you two loaves of bread, a gallon of milk and a couple dozen eggs. <4> nivek : "If you're not here, I can't verify that you're actually working." <5> possibly two gallons of milk. <4> jblack : I have food in the fridge/freezer. <5> Oh, then you're fine. <4> and if you go to the local WonderBread store, you can get 3loaves/$ <5> $10 is a lot if you have everything you need. :) <4> and gas is down, too. That's the biggest concern I've got. I have a 40mile/day commute. But I shouldn't have too much of a problem. I still hav ea half-tank of gas.
