<1> jello is the yum.
<1> Tgrouty: whats up with your display problems?
<0> thanks Interex
<1> i just ***ume everyone here is really busy or doesnt care.
<2> Colts win, 29 to 17
<1> i'll try my best to help
<1> jblack: yay:D
<0> ...... i have ATI radeon 9250 graphic card.....
<0> and is not going to work on Fedora 6
<1> you should install the ATI driver.
<0> hmmm
<0> it is automatically detected but does not work inspite
<1> you need to install the latest ati driver, then edit your xorg.conf file
<1> jblack: indiana has something to be proud of for 364 days

<3> woohoo!
<0> well Interex.....I have d loaded the driver from ATI website but it does not work....... now where from to get the latest driver
<3> hoosier boy here
<1> Tgrouty: you download a driver for Linux, or a specific driver for Fedora, or what?
<1> MrMuckle: :)
<0> i have done it for linux
<0> this only driver is there
<1> Tgrouty: ok did you check your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file to make sure the display driver was set to ati ?
<1> err "radeon" not "ati"
<0> hmmmm .... i think no...
<1> do this
<0> actully i m new in linux
<1> grep /etc/X11/xorg.conf "radeon"
<0> ok I ll do this
<1> type that at your console
<0> ok
<1> err
<1> wait
<4> grep options pattern file
<1> right
<1> i just rememberd that
<1> grep "radeon" /etc/X11/xorg.conf
<0> well thanks Interex
<1> anything output from that?
<0> ok.. Interex... i ll check it .. i have dual OS
<1> oh
<0> now i m working on Bull's windows
<0> hehe
<1> well then you might have more problems because it really is difficult to help someone when they arent on the OS at the time.
<0> ya
<0> but if not that one
<0> i mean if it not ATI or redeon
<0> how will i set it... Interex
<1> no if you installed the new driver and it didnt automaticly edit your xorg.conf you will need to do it yourself.. you can use your favorite editor and open /etc/X11/xorg.conf then go to the display section where you will see something like Driver "vesa" (for example)
<1> then just make it say Driver "radeon"
<1> you will need to be root to edit that file.
<0> yea
<1> p3nguin: my mother upgraded to 5.0mbit in MVN
<4> fr[a]nklin: You're going to have to disable that.
<1> it didnt seem much quicker to me really..
<5> crap.. sorry
<4> Interex: Bump it up to the 10M service and you'll notice it.
<4> fr[a]nklin: Thanks.
<5> np
<1> Charter MVN offers 10mbit?
<4> They should
<1> i didnt know that, she just told me they told her it was 5mbit now and i went to test it.
<6> https://home.comcast.net/~stevedallas/firefoxkitten.jpg
<7> Interex: Comes a point where server pipe is smaller than yours.. then no matter how fat your line is, you can't go any faster (with one pull) but... you can go parallel ;)
<4> charter.net says they have 10Mbit.
<1> TaZeR: heh :)
<1> TaZeR: i know this :)
<1> Mulder: nice :)
<7> The other thing they do is session throttling... good choice for busy servers, but, it'll make you feel like you're not getting that big speed you're paying for
<1> it was still 5mbit just didnt seem much of an increse from 3mbit
<1> well i guess i'm out for the night
<8> can slackware 11 install to computer 64 bit ????

<4> Do not repeat.

<8> yup
<9> Yes.
<9> I believe it can.
<10> damn this is harder than i thought
<4> http://www.slamd64.com/
<4> You can put Slackware on your 64-bit computer but it will run a 32-bit kernel.
<4> The slamd64 distro is the 64-bit Slackware port.
<4> It's an unofficial port, I think.

<10> oh...and I've rejoined the ranks of "single"
<2> at the time, the thought was "its way too hard to get things out"
<2> Congrats!
<10> its for the best, but still hard...
<2> Dont' let it get to you. The only girl in my life that's never made my life worse is my daughter

<13> is it possble i mean
<2> You'll be ok ancker.
<2> gaspare: Yes. We don't cover windows here though.
<13> right but im trying to log into centos
<13> so what would I have to enable within cent to do this?
<2> gaspare: Well, you'd have to look at enabling xdmpc
<4> Gaspare: On your GNOME desktop, see if you have remote desktop capabilities. I don't use GNOME, but I recall seeing something like that with KDE one time.
<4> Gaspare: Otherwise, consider using the X.org VNC module and a VNC viewer on Windows.
<4> I've never ran an RDP server on Linux before.
<13> yeah i could use vnc too, thats a good idea.. but i do recall gnome having the remote desktop capabilites, i know you can log into a windows box from gnome with remote desktop but was wondering if ti works the other way around
<6> i'm shocked by people who cant swim
<6> especially ones that live near big swimmable water bodies
<4> I'm shocked by high current electrodes hooked to my chair!
<10> if someone comes to save me in less than an hour
<13> i dont think xdmp has anything to do with what Im trying to do
<13> xdmpc
<4> Gaspare: It doesn't.
<13> i guess winvnc it is then if centos doesnt have a remote desktop server already included
<13> er vnc
<10> hrm, I live in a college town...but I kind of don't want to date a student
<10> finding a new girl will be tricky
