<2> rustymemory: ok man
<2> oh thats just tooooo sick .. having to install a lib package from my RH rpm, because slack doesnt come with that *grr*
<14> Calidan, if slack doesnt have it, it's useless. end of discussion. ;)'
<2> deegan: lol
<2> deegan: you know you are probably write there - shall tell the person who wrote this piece of code to rewrite it without using pcap or bpf :)
<14> There you go. :)
<2> heheh
<14> Calidan: i did try to install something using RPM once, in slack that is. Didnt work to well, even tried to rpm2tgz it and it still messed up. If it's not native on slack it feels like the whole system just rejects it. It's more or less impossible to get a working rpm install on slack. :)
<14> gah! i need to find some cheap*** scsi-drives for this machine.
<14> there's an old samsung ide drive in it that make more noise than the fileserver does.
<2> deegan: well this worked ok - only because I know all the required depends are there .. so just used --nodeps :)
<14> Calidan, doesnt rpm like check for deps in install rpm packages. so if you need to install someting with rpm on slack you are going to have to use --nodeps no matter what?
<2> yeah
<2> because there is no rpm db of installed packages to check against
<14> tru.dat
<15> anyone here know someone that works at t-mobile or ATT ?
<16> Enchanter_tim: how can i change my vhost(pysbnc)?
<17> quote bvhost v.host
<16> ok thnaks
<16> thnks
<18> hey guys im pretty new to linux... if i have a USB drive i want to mount, what is the correct syntax?
<18> anyone?
<14> If you have set everything up right.
<14> It's /dev/sda1
<18> so its "mount /dev/sda1" ? no "mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/something?
<14> With the mountpoint also.
<14> so the 2nd.
<18> and the something can be any word i choose correct?
<2> any directory
<2> enpty preferably
<14> also, its nice to have a tail -f /var/log/messages going in a seperate window/terminal so you easely can see if its working.
<2> no - and in future IF you want to ask if you can MSG - please DO NOT MSG THE REQUEST
<14> cause if you plug it in you should get some messages saying stuff like "found new usb device on usb:00:0" or something like that.
<18> deegan thanks
<18> Calidan chill out bro
<18> im just trying to learn
<2> pfftt
<14> np, if you get stuck i suggest google something like "linux usb setup" and you should get the finer detailed stuff answered.
<18> deep breaths my friend, Calidan
<2> oh I am icey - and you are lucky I didnt have my msg guard on :) thats a lot more insulting than I am in person
<18> jeeze, id hate to see that
<18> i mean seriously, its is NOT that bigga dela
